FREEP - Fayetteville NC, 3/19 "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" (and counterprotest the 5th Column Marxists)
Old North State Chapter ^ | 3/4/05 | Old North State Chapter of Free Republic

Edited on 03/05/2005 8:14:51 AM PST by Lead Moderator. [history]

Once again, busloads of leftist activists will descend upon Fayetteville, NC in an attempt to demoralize the will of our American troops by targetting their loved ones with antiwar drivel.

The choice of Fayetteville, NC, as a focal point of their propaganda campaign, is due to the fact that it is the home of Ft. Bragg (and the 82nd Airborne) as well as the Pope Airforce Base. The leftists will march with socialist banners and bring out an array of speakers decrying the war and advocating every variety of left-wing topic from Marxism and socialism to special "rights" for homosexuals to secularism to pro-Hezbollah Palestinianism. (Seriously - last year they all were really there!)

The unifying factor of all of these groups is anti-Americanism utilizing continued propaganda themes of "Bush lied" and "No blood for oil". The mob will also import a number of speakers who have allegedly lost loved ones in Iraq, and will create some sort of symbolic display reflecting the number of dead. (They have used pairs of boots and black umbrellas in the past.) They will (undoubtedly through an unintentional oversight) neglect to display any symbolism reflecting the number of Americans killed in the WTC, or Iraqis killed by Saddam or Women beaten by the Taliban, or the number of Afghanis and Iraquis and Palestinians and Ukrainians and (soon) Egyptians who now have the ability to vote.

Last year, FReepers countered the leftwing protests with the added participation of Rolling Thunder, Protest Warriors, Vets and other patriotic Americans. This year, we'll do it again! We had lots of press coverage, and totally deflated the left's bubble. Families of our troops loved the fact that we were there!

Please join FReepers from Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina and DC in Fayetteville this year as once again we provide aid and comfort to American troops!

I have to work tomorrow. I wish you would do it in the evening sometime. Weekends are when I have to work as that is when we are our busiest. I'll be off on the 19th though. I've taken care of that.

I'm going to my breakfast with the 11th Airborne members tomorrow morning. I'll make an announcement to them. I will also make an announcement to my high school bunch that eats out once a month, tomorrow night being the night for that.

Thanks for the ping, TR. I've got our room reserved, confirmation in hand. dotgsl will be there, too; said, "Cool!" when told that CR UNC-CH will be there.

Won't be able to make it to your chat tomorrow, but will appreciate reading Freepmail report after, as I did last week.

One last thing... this year I will go to the Museum before leaving town.

Looking forward to standing with the NC Chapter of FR, and Freepers and lurkers in good standing who are coming to Fayetteville from many states... SC, TN, FL, GA, WV, PA, NJ, DE, DC, MD, VA, etc.

cANSWER, UFPJ, CodePinkos, DAWN and other affinity groups will be deeply saddened by their reception in Fayettevile, I do believe.

Thanks for starting this new thread. The other one was getting kinda frayed around the edges.

If FReepers are interested in what the other side is doing, go to the NC Peace & Justice Coalition website. They have posted fairly detailed plans.

I did not post the actual link as it will be better if they don't receive hits from FR. Their link can be found easily via Google.

My computer hiccupped and I left you off that last ping.

P.S. Did anyone invite Ann Coulter?

;-)

That these Communist scum would soil a place named after one of our Countries greatest champions makes we want to puke. Our Marquis is rolling over in his grave down at Picpus Cemetery.

Go get em patriots, I only wish I lived close enough to participate.

One thing was clear last year from the other side. They think the war is wrong and want to impeach President Johnson.

That's okay. A FReeper proudly carrying the nick-name of another Revolutionary War hero will be there to greet them.

ROFLOL. (FWIW, I think that's supposed to be the "index finger".)

BTW, thanks for starting a new thread; we needed it. I love it when you make executive decisions. :-)
