Fulton Co. Judge shot and killed in courthouse shooting (BREAKING Fri 9A)

This is a breaking news situation.

A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.

The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.

I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

I won't pile on her, either. It's not her fault, it's the shooter's fault that people are dead. He chose to do what he did.

I understand that about 4:30 pm there were about 20 state patrol cruisers up and down Clarendon Drive in Avondale Estates. This guy could be anywhere from Avondale Estates to Houstong by now.

There are conflicting reports about what happened in that cell. One of them, which I don't believe, said that she and the prepetrator struggled for a few minutes.

I don't think we're ever going to know what actually happened -- except that she broke procedure, leaving herself vulnerable to attack and consequently lost her weapon to Nichols.

Exactly. I have been thinking all day that the way this went down seemed like a plan. However, in this plan, the perp killed the court reporter. Why? The judge makes sense, the cops make sense (given the situation and his mindset), the court reporter makes no sense. What threat did she pose to him? I think that he has a list of those that have "harmed" him and in his twisted brain, he included the court reporter. Also, I think that there are others that he will target. I doubt that he has left the area.

He just bought himself the death penalty, he has nothing to lose. Once I heard that he had (as reported) called to threaten someone else, I realized that he is on a mission.

Black, medium complexion {this has caused all sorts of troubles so don't get into it}. He is tall, over 6 feet and has a really mean eyed look but is otheerwise pretty ordinary looking.
