Most of you know the drill. Get your first cup o' coffee and head on over to your PC or laptop. Maybe you wait until you get home from work and grab your favorite beverage. OR you log on at work in between...
You fire up Free Republic. Check your messages and freepmails with your good buds. Then strap yourself in for the fireworks -- oh, I mean that in a good way. Then lock and load for threads on your favorite issues. Launch a few salvos. Have a few laughs. Commisserate. Vent. Love. Hate. Learn. (And learn humility -- there's always a Freeper capable of knocking you on your cyber-@ss). Inform. Admire the wit. The wisdom. The camraderie. The entertainment. The principle. The patriotism. The passion. The committment. Freepers are people with whom I'd assuredly share a foxhole....And a beer.
...But it's time to take a prolonged leave absense from Free Republic. Some of you may be able to relate -- it's become all too consuming and distracting to my daily life. FR only seems like it's my job, my personal life, and my after-hours lounge all rolled up into one ;-) I'm burnt out. (I hear the taxi beeping)...
Gonna miss all that jousting, cage rattling (you know who you all are -- lol, I'll miss you too) and carrying on in all those important Illegal Immigration/Border threads, and U.S. Sovereignty threads; God/Religion Threads; Heck, add most threads regarding the UN, ACLU, Sports, History, Guys/Gal stuff , and I'm there...
I've met some fantastic people -- and made some great friends. Thanks to Jim Rob for making all this possible. Special thanks and admiration goes out to Mr. Mojo, Arasina, Wardaddy, jwalsh07, Doughty One, ApesForEvolution, Travis McGee, lavrenti, dead, Kilo Lima, gunrunner2, -- I'm sure I'm leaving many of you out, but I love you all, man...we're bloods ;-)
Carry on Freepers -- you magnificent b@stards! May God and Country and Conservatism win the day!
I hate to see Freepers leave...you will be missed. Know that you can always change your mind. I understand that at times people need a break. Best wishes.
