Official After-Action Thread: March 19 Fayetteville, NC Support Our Troops Rally
Freepers, lurkers and assorted patriots ^ | March 19, 2005 | Constitution Day

Posted on 03/19/2005 5:03:49 PM PST by Constitution Day

Today we met in Fayetteville, NC to Freep a motley rabble of socialists, anarchists, Code Pink-os, and other throwbacks to the 60's! As usual, we were well outnumbered by their hordes of college students, aging hippies and other bused-in protestors, but we held our own as always.

Please post any reports and observations on this thread only.

I don't know, but this was her second year. I spoke to her and she is not a freeper, just someone that wants to support the troops.

I'm finally just starting some laundry. I've been on here and waiting for the news. Oh, well. I can take a nap or two while I wait.

Doing laundry when the spirit moves me...that is what I really miss. I don't think the laundry room stays open 24 hrs. here. Hope you get it all done.

I really don't like HTML. I haven't learned how to use it and I don't really plan on doing so anytime soon.

I was the start of that conflagration. I held a sign up that had something about A.N.S.W.E.R. on it in front of that short-haired woman as she was going to take a picture of MOAB. Well, the short-haired woman got her knickers in a twist. She had to start yammering and everyone else came over and there it went. I finally faded into the background and eventually the cops suggested to her that she needed to move on.

.. this patriot being accosted by a leftist propagandist with a press badge...

I don't know her name, but I told her later how glad I was that she spoke her mind.

She stood up to the crew cut, obviously doped butch.

That's the yammerer whose elevator didn't go to the top floor.

The press seemed dissappointed that we didn't have any unibrow toothless types for them to interview as representative conservatives. (rrrod refused to be interviewed.) Great FReeper turnout though. Folks worked hard and continued to befuddle the leftist flotsum and jetsam that had been bussed in.

One particularly memorable moment came in the hotel breakfast area before the rally. FReeper Flora McDonald was attired in her red "Reagan Revolution" t-shirt. A leftist accosted her, saying "excuse me, but do you know that that shirt is based on a Che Gueverra picture?" I answered, "yes, we know" as we continued walking.

As we returned to the room a few minutes later, the same leftist addressed us again, asking why we had a picture of Reagan copying Che, who was a "great revolutionary". We patiently tried to explain the concept of irony, but it was well beyond her grasp...

Hey, I have a unibrow too.

Congratulations on a terrific Freep. Sorry I couldn't be with you this year.

kristinn, special kudos to you for coming all the way down from D.C. to put the verbal wood to the great unwashed.
