If Schiavo lied at any point in this case, civil liability should be the least of his worries.

Schiavo's not going to allow an autopsy, either, I understand.

Correct .. it is also my understanding that he plans to have her cremated right away

Has anything in recent history proven the insanity of our broken Justice System more than this? The system is totally politicized.

I was thinking the same thing....seniors need to know that in the state of Florida, food and water are "extraordinary medical efforts", and starvation is "humane".

Seniors wanting to choose life should stay the heck out of Floridah!

That was curious to me. So what if the success of the parents had a likelihood of "little success"

Should not that likelihood of even little success be given a chance given that Terri will be dead even if successful at a later date.

I am putting it badly. Even a small chance of success should trigger keeping her alive to have it.

Agreed that the Constitution and courts are in as bad shape as ever, and now we have a Republican congress that's even worse.

You're right. I'll vote for Nader next time. That'll send a message.

This whole affair has not been a victory, except that Mrs. Schiavo might finally get some peace.

Roe v Wade would not have been a victory, except that many unwanted babies are now at peace. (You wouldn't want them to live in misery, poverty and prison, now would you? They're in the arms of the Lord now. See how caring I am?)

At any rate, spare me your concerns about her 'peace'. I know what you're after, and you're naiive to think you're getting it.

My Florida orange juice tastes rather bitter this morning...I guess I'll have to see if there are any California brands out there.

It's way past politicized. It's evil.

Nothing shows up on the US District Court's site yet. Is there a link?

If you had listened to the entire interview on LKL, you'd know that you are taking those words out of context.

And here's Michael talking about his dog: "When's the bitch gonna die?"

This is an interesting point.

We have a congressional directive for her case to be heard throughout the federal court system that could stretch from district court all the way to supreme court.

On the other hand, the president's attorney general and justice department are charged with enforcing the laws of the land.

I'm thinking that if any judge drags his feet to the point there is concern that Terri might not survive the entire process which has been granted to her by the law that congress passed, that the Justice Department can take her into protective custody to ensure she survives throughout this entire time.

They would simply be ensuring the congressional law can be fully fulfilled.

>>>The law doesn't deal in "What Ifs...."

Then why are they dealing in hearsay evidence? Why are they taking Mr. Schiavo's word as the truth. In any other court of law, the "He said that she said" would not have been admissable.

This is what REALLY bothers me.

"Then the other people who testified about her wishes were lying too"

Yes they were.

"It wasn't just the word of her husband that convinced the FL courts."

This is true. The other witnesses were Mikey's wife and sister - betcha anything he paid them or promised them a payout later.

I smell a troll.

You're too "young" to call someone a troll - especially a long-timer.

He is entitled to his opinion, even if it disagrees with yours.

Jano Reno always had her appeals heard by a favorable court. Rotatation be damned. She got the judge that she needed.

This clintoonista waited to the last moment for the hearing and his decision...........was he hoping Terri would pass on in the meantime?

No, no, NO! You can't "slink away" >of course I do realize the spirit in which you made that remark<. We must not let things like this case divide us. We must come together on common ground and work to stop our contry's slide into socialism.

The critical issue is how long has she been without water - dehydration will kill her faster than starvation.

Her last "feeding" was at 11:00 a.m. (Eastern) on Friday. As of this moment, she has gone 92 hours without a drop of water.

Neighbor, I agree. This is a call to arms, to reign in a corrupt, arrogant, and unaccountable Judiciary. God Almighty, be my Judge-- so long as I draw breath, I will work to fix this problem.

My belief is that attacking viciously the Kingdom of Satan, especially that of Satan, is okay. Sometimes it gives me a vent for my frustration! [Hillary and some other folks I consider to be strong supporters of the underworld].
