President Bush yesterday said he opposes a civilian project to monitor illegal aliens crossing the border, characterizing them as "vigilantes." The way I see it, those people on the border are not vigilantes. What we really need on the border is some real vigilantes ala The Committees of Vigilance in San Francisco circa 1856. Think about it, if enough people went down and started raising holy hell Bush would be forced to put troops on the border, if for no other reason than to restore order.
When you all are serious and ready to shut down the border "by any means necessary" give me a call. These little games you're playing now won't make any difference or change a thing.

One is tempted to compare George Bush the Second's globalism to that of his father.
The biggest difference is that GWB's success (so far) has been fueled by more Big Biz types who have very significant economic stakes in the game.

I can't really fathom anyone's surprise.
You can't? Just what kind of conservative are you? This stands against every principle held by conservatives since inception. The man is a fraud, and he has refused to honor his oath of office and the law of the land. He is willing to sacrifice our security and our soveriegnty for personal gain. He has imposed the enormous public cost of caring for tens of millions of illegal mexican citizens upon us.
The Republican party has become just another association of self serving socialist elites. Willing to sacrifice American Citizens for their illegal house maids and a few votes.
Vicente Fox must have some nice videos of Bush in his younger years. He is certainly able to manage him like a puppeteer.

You know d*mn well he never said that and has said on numerous occasions that amnesty is not the solution as all it does is cause more illegal immigration. Then why is he proposing amnesty?
Of course the Bush haters on this site could care less for the facts and would rather just attack and flame.
Then, what are the facts? What, exactly, is and has for the last 4 years ... Bush done to curb illegal immigration?

So now the border patrol will be arresting our citizens who also patrolling the border? Is it now a crime? Pretty much. But, if Bush gives the order to start arresting these patriots, he'll walk into a hornet's nest of dissent. He will have no more of his "political capital" left. I doubt he'll be able to pass anything important in the next 3 years because Republican party will be split internally. He'll be a dud. Bush's immigration policies will destroy the middle class of this country.

GOOD. If anyone can't tell--I was being sarcastic, trying to light a firecracker up your a**es.
I did not see your sarcasm tag, I thought you were one of the "sheeple", blindly following the party line.
I used to believe that Bush was the greatest President, and I simply disagreed with his border policy - not anymore.
Bush has crossed the line. . .and crossed We the People. He has become no better than his good buddy Fox who is a DICTATOR - not a President.
I was born in the USA I do not to answer to foreign potentates!

"I'm for enforcing the law in a rational way." The caveat is his referring to "....a rational way...."; making the enforcement of the law a subjective matter. Rational to whom is a question begging to be asked and answered.

Immigrants? By immigrant, do you mean those illegal aliens invading our country?
Do you also refer to a bank robbery as a withdrawl of funds, same as you would when a legal withdrawl is made?
Interesting.
We are idiots as you say, but only because we are not all lined up shoulder to shoulder along the border, armed with catapults capable of hurling a human from there to Mexico City.

"I'm against vigilantes in America" is right up there with "Let them eat cake," considering that Bush is refusing to protect the border in time of war.

The American middle class is all that stands between the world and totalitarian globalist hell.
That's precisely why they want it destroyed.

I think it's a brilliant Republican strategy Racial/group politics is a page from the Democratic play-book. And it is a really good strategy! /sarc That is why 5 of the last 7 Presidents have been Republicans and why the Democrats have ceded massive majorities in both Houses of Congress to the Republicans. Hispandering is about as brilliant as pandering to blacks.
Republicans became the majority party by sticking to our values and principles and practicing color-blind politics.
It would not be brilliant to repeat the Democrat's mistakes because lots of conservatives will abandon the Republican party if they persist in hispandering. You can't replace us with Hispanics when 6 out of 10 vote Democrat. The math just doesn't work.
