Minutemen to cover larger area of border than originally planned
"One of the organizers of the Minuteman Project has reported that, due to the unexpected number of volunteers that have committed themselves to the mission, even more of the border will be guarded than was originally planned.
In addition to the strip of border between the Huachuca Mtns. and Douglas, AZ, additional volunteers will be deployed in the Columbus, NM area and both east and west of Nogales, AZ."
I think the Israeli fence cost about $1.8 million per mile. The fence near San Diego cost about the same. Lets round it up to $2 million times 2400 miles and it only costs $4.8 billion.
The 911 Terrorist attacks cost our economy at least $60 billion. The war on terror has cost about $300 billion. Illegal immigration costs the State of California $9 billion (net of the taxes they pay) annually and Arizona another $1.2 billion.
$5 billion for a wall sounds like a bargain to me!
BTTT
It's a sad day in America when an invasion from a third world country is allowed by our own government.
C'mon now we are talking about Govt. common sense is never allowed.
Right you are....
Funny...we, as citizens, are encouraged by LEO's to form and participate in our local Neighborhood Watch Program...
...and I belong to AOPA and am encouraged to participate in the WOT Airport Watch Program ....
...yet when the MM form and actively participate in a Border Watch Program they get shredded and damned with faint praise!!
Just doesn't compute...
/headscratching on
What difference would someone's private beliefs matter, so long as he obeys the law?
they dont, but do you know of any white supremacists that don't let you know where they stand?
I knew 2 of those type and they would let you know in no uncertain terms where they stand, and then I would tell them how wrong they happen to be....it was fun....
It would also seen that some sort of banking regulation regarding the transfer of us funds into mexico might change the fact that mexicos #2 source of income is from all the jobs that our government says we won't do.
maybe something like a 75% transfer fee?
they'd be paying thier taxs then wouldn't they...
I have thought for some time it would be best if no response was given to the flaming race baiters. Just pretend they aren't even there.
I think they like the attention good or bad. The worst would be if they got no response at all.
What should be important is what they do, not what they think.
They can think as they please.
All that should matter is the legality of their actions.
Of course, the media may want you to think otherwise . . . .
I want the MM thing to work.
that means not allowing even the remotest possibility of anything stupid to happen.
I want the MM thing to work as well, I agree it absolutely must be done PEACEFULLY. If anything happens the MSM will be all over it. I think the leaders realize that, that's why they were strongly requesting current and former LEO's. They know these people understand the laws and will use a cool head in possibly heated situations. I pray all will be well and have faith if there are any attempts at violence, it will come from south of the border.
All in all, April will be a fascinating month.
"kooks"
Look no further than your own mirror to see the real "kooks".
yep....that it will be...
I think the leaders and organizers of the MM are doing a pretty good job....
PING
The preeminent race-baiter on FR has posted at least twice today their 'drunken redneck' comments about the MMP and no one has replied to either. That is a hopeful sign.
What's really sad is I know exactly to whom you are referring. Well if that particular comment was thrown out with no response, that is a big improvement!!
That's sure a lot of territory!
"these people have to be stopped before someone gets hurt"
You are too late, many illegals crossing the border are hurting our families with their drug traffic, hurting our citizens with their criminal activity, and hurting our social programs with incessant demands that they are "entitled" to them.
They keep threads moving, bumping them way up. Threads with simmering disputes ongoing often get to 400+ replies, which means many times more lurkers will actually read the body of the article. Very few read a thread past 50 or so replies. So in that sense, any bump is a good bump.
We'll see how long this thread lasts.
