After going more than eight days without food and water, starving Terri Schiavo looks "beautiful," the attorney for her husband, who appears to have won the battle to force her death, told reporters on Saturday.
"She looked beautiful," attorney George Felos said, emerging from a visit to her room. He claimed that Terri was "resting comfortably."
"In all the years I've seen Mrs. Schiavo, I have never seen such a look of peace and beauty upon her," he insisted. Felos's comments were sharply at odds with accounts from her family and their lawyers, who say her eyes are sunken, her skin is flaking and that she's bleeding from the eyes and mouth.
"It's like someone who is coming out of a bunker in Auschwitz," Terri's sister, Suzanne Vitadamo, told reporters Saturday.
"This is heinous what's happening, absolutely heinous - this is absolutely barbaric," her brother Bobby Schindler complained. "If she is in fact dying so peacefully and easily, why not allow a camera in there to videotape it?" he said.
Further belying Mr. Felos' claims that Terri is "resting comfortably," lawyers for her family say nurses have begun to administer morphine to ease the intense pain.
Why don't you tell us about Tom DeLay's Father and all the circumstances surrounding his death,such as condition prognosis, age, amount of uncontrollable pain, etc., etc.
Tell us if DeLay's Mother, took up with another man and had 2 more children by him, as proof of her loyalty and devotion to her mate.
Explain what you see that makes the two cases in any way comparable.

I believe my uncle was one of those starved creatures in the Nazi POW camps. He was fighting with the British Expeditionary Force in Greece in WWII and ended up MIA, presumably captured. May he rest in peace.

Felios. You F#&$. ANYONE on 50 to 100mg of morphine looks 'beautific'. What you are doing to Terry, may it be found upon yourself 100 fold. Karma works you murderer. And man, you and Mike have got it coming in SPADES. I for one will watch with Justice in mine eyes.
I think someone could make the case that they are attempting to incite a riot with their BS.

It just seems that Felos is the only one who can truly come out of this smiling. HINO will find no peace in his life, nor will Greer. Felos made his cash and can now go on to find other helpless creatures to torture with the full blessing of the Court and most of the media.
It is lawyers who seem to be the ultimate rulers of this country
That whole "Patient Care Notes" thing is sickening. It's something like reading an abortionist describing a new method of abortion. Such ghoulishness is evident, that I begin to wonder if there isn't some other race living amongst us--they *look* human, but have absolutely no empathy or compassion, and delight in causing pain and death.

Has the guy lost his credibility yet??? I agree with Terri's brother. These people who support euthenasia by starvation/dehydration SHOULD allow cameras in so that people can really see just how beautiful and peaceful the process is. If severely disabled people are going to be regularly and legally "let go" this way, I think all citizens should know what starvation and dehydration is all about.
Anyhow Felos' statement highlights just one of the many problems I have with this case: the role of personal bias and interpretation. I'm reminded of how people responded after the 9-11 attack. Most were horrified and saw it for the pointless evil that it was. But the socialists who were already biased against America interpreted the attack through their own biased lense: America deserved it, America brought it on through other actions, etc. I think we have a similar bias here, and it's something that we should all be concerned about. We have terms like "PVS," a need to find proof that someone who is severely disabled "can or has shown improvement," a question about how "reflexive" or "intentional" an action is from someone who is deemed a "vegitable," "dying with dignity," and an act of "letting go" of someone who is completely helpless.
I am actually open to the posibility that there are some people who are so brain dead that they wouldn't be aware of what hit them if they were neglected to death. But this case has brought up some very important questions about how each person defines something like "PVS" or "reflexive." And for me, at least, it has brought up some very serious questions about just how biased people judging this case can be, and how the definition of the terms used to judge Terri can shift and change over time. How do we know how much brain activity is needed to make a person conscious and aware of what's going with others around them and their own bodies? Is there a standard line that people use to judge what is intentional and reflexive? Terri's family, friends and some care givers have seen signs of consciousness and purposeful actions in Terri. Perhaps they have a bias and see what they want to see.... or perhaps those who want to starve her to death are just seeing what they want to see. And with a helpless person's life on the line, the biases and beliefs and ways they measure life should be examined thoroughly.
The sadistic glee that this attorney exhibits is a discredit to his entire profession.

Steele believes he'll put the plane on autopilot and go visit Hattie. But Hattie's in a panic: some of the passengers have disappeared! The Rapture has happened, abruptly driverless cars are crashing all over, and the slick, sinister Romanian Nicolae Carpathia plans to use the UN to establish one world government and religion. Resembling "a young Robert Redford" and silver-tongued in nine languages, Carpathia is named People's "Sexiest Man Alive." (This reviewer, a former People writer, finds this plot twist plausible.) Meanwhile, Steele teams up with Buck Williams, a buck-the-system newshound, to form the Tribulation Force, an underground of left-behind penitents battling the Antichrist.
I forced myself to watch his news conference. Oh, how the journalists fawned all over him. And oh, how he enjoyed every minute of it. He is disguised as an angel of light. Sure has a lot of people deceived.
