(DESPITE RAIN) EMERGENCY TIMES SQUARE DEMONSTRATION TO SAVE TERRI SCHIAVO TODAY AT 5:30PM

EMERGENCY TIMES SQUARE DEMONSTRATION TO SAVE TERRI SCHIAVO ON 3/28/05 AT 5:30 P.M.

For Immediate Release and Posting on All Lists/Boards

CONTACT CHRIS SLATTERY: (914) 224-5773 SlatteryNY@aol.com

On Monday, March 28, 2005, at 5:30 P.M., an emergency protest demonstration/prayer vigil will take place in Times Square in New York City (near the military recruiting station). Citizens outraged and traumatized by the in-progress execution of Terri Schindler-Schiavo in a Pinellas Park, Florida, death hospice will gather to protest in the name of conscience against this murder, which is being carried out by the U.S. judicial system with the complicity of many in government and the public. We intend to plead for the life of an innocent woman who is being put to death for the crime of being disabled.

In addition to praying for Terri and our endangered nation, we plan to implore President George W. Bush and Florida Governor Jeb Bush to order federal marshals and Florida National Guard troops to take Terri into protective custody so that her feeding tube may be restored and her life saved. We are demanding that the President and Jeb Bush act immediately to prevent the commission of what will be one of the most horrific crimes in history.

Sounds like an Elian style raid to me. And highly illegal.

The sad thing is those on FR who are advocating such actions were probably the same ones bashing Clinton for violating the rule of law whenever it suited him.

There can't be more than seventy cops locking down that hospice... if even that... they would never dream of firing on an unarmed crowd, even if they were overwhelming them with force of presence (to displace them from preventing feeding of Terri, access to her, etc etc.). such a plan would take a lot of guts, and I think that there are enough courageous, angry, hurt people there willing to lay it on the line to save Terri's life.

lack of brains is also required for such an activity

Thank you, I'm glad to see other FR's feel the way I do.

I'd say most do. 1/2 of those that advocate violence or breaking the law are trolls that sign up just to start trouble. The other 1/2 are just letting their emotions overtake their brains.

Who said that they would be alone for long necessarily. At such a point Jeb would likely be compelled to step in on behalf of protesters acting on Terri's behalf... I'm talking peasants with pitchforks type uprising, or Bastille storming type thing is what is needed now, that and divine intervention.

BRAVO TO THE BUSHES FOR NOT BREAKING THE LAW

President George W. Bush and his brother Governor Jeb Bush of Florida want Terri Schiavo's feeding tube reinserted. They don't want her to die. President Bush even cut his vacation short by flying back to Washington to sign the ultimately futile and apparently unconstitutional congressional bill.

They have gone to the limits of their authority under the US and Florida Constitutions. Neither can do any more for her.

Despite their best efforts and desires; they have been attacked, demonized and condemned by the very people they were supporting. Somehow these protesters are upset that they don't unilaterally break the law just because they want them to.

These people have vowed they will never vote Republican again and will especially never vote for Jeb Bush. Somehow President Bush and Governor Jeb Bush are now guilty of wanting her to die just because they refuse to break the law.

Breaking the law is very serious, especially for political leaders. They can be impeached and even go to jail. The Bush brothers wisely steered clear of placing themselves in harm's way by obeying the protesters' demands.

Do these protesters really want their political leaders to violate the US Constitution under pressure from special interest groups?

Won't these same conservative and religious protesters get livid and devastated if the next democratic leaders break the law under pressure from leftist groups? Perhaps their freedoms will be targeted. Perhaps their homes shall be confiscated. Perhaps their religion will be persecuted.

Only fools demand their leaders break the law - the moment this becomes acceptable; the slippery slope is stepped upon and every group with their own agendas will be demanding similar action.

Those condemning the Bush brothers and other Republicans for refusing to violate the law should ask themselves if they want satanists to begin running their churches? After all, perhaps the satanists will be demanding the next democratic leaders also break the law and violate the US Constitution by making satanism the official religion of the US.

What goes around comes around. Let us not forget it.

What's the point of even trying now? Terri is going to die. Michael will move on with his new wife and children. The Schindler family will get back to dealing with their living children. Nothing will change. Long live the judges.

Sorry, I looked around but I didn't see your plan for saving her life.

So it is more "wrong" to your way of thinking to risk the (already imbalanced) balance of powers under the U.S. Constitution that it is "wrong" to murder an innocent woman by court order? I see.

Is that what the rule of law really means?

I hope the President or Governor are watching and change their hearts.

The President or the Governor can write an executive order to get Terri into a hospital immediately. It is not breaking any law to do so. This action would not interfere with the judge. And since Greer already flaunted a Congressional subpoena his ruling is highly questionable.

Executive orders are lawful. They've been written by presidents ever since Washington on a number of different issues.

Contacting the president and ask him to write an executive order immediately. If you cannot reach him, then contact your state senators and representatives.

God Bless you Terri in your hour of death

Let everyone who said your beautiful smile was fake be haunted by it for the rest of their days.

You are evidently more concerned with the possible usurpation of power by the executive branch than concerned with the clear usurpation of power by the judiciary. A judge has ruled that an innocent, helpless woman can not receive food or water - not even by mouth, which is how you yourself receive it - and you think it would be "wrong" to protest and ask for intervention?

"...the modern malady in the political arena is one of a fundamental contradiction—there is an unblushing moralizing on politics and a shameless politicizing of morality." ` Ravi Zacharias
