The article is full of inaccuracies.
First, Terri lost 50 pounds while seeing a MD before she met MS.
Second MS himself said he did not know she was bulemic.
Third, she did not collapse after eating a meal nor was she found in vomit.
Fourth, she was allegedly found by MS in the early morning with no mention of vomit, etc.
There is no proof TS was bulemic.

The point that, after Terri and Michael moved to Florida, Terri went on a diet leaves two thoughts.
1. The diet sounds like low carb (lots of food and a risk of potassium depletion) Of course, it could just be a slap at Atkins.
2. Often, when a spouse is unfaithful, he or she blames it on the other spouse. ("She's too fat," "She complains too much," "He ignores me," "No one understands me.")
Maybe she did NOT have bulimia.

1/2 this forum has thrown any semblance of reason out the window and are talking solely with their emotions. Not a good combination. Of course some are DU trolls joining just to stir the pot and try to destroy FR.I think FR will survive just fine when people post from their heart. The real losers in this case, imho, will be those who have denied compassion in favor of rationality.

Terri isn't a 'sideshow'. She's the central character in a Greek tragedy.

I agree. This nasty paragraph was more than unfortunate, it was deliberately inserted to lend credence to the notion that Terri's life wasn't worth talking about even when she was healthy. CBS has an agenda here.

And based on your comment and tagline, I assume you're one of those "we're going to show Bush and the evil Republicans in 2006 because
they murdered Terri Schaivo".
I'm sure everything will be all better when the Democrats are back in power. /sarcasm

Princess Di was bulemic, too. Did that make her worthless?

I thought she was incapacitated? Must have put the stuffed animals there for the sake of the media. Pandering to the media. How long before Michael writes a book about it all and is on a all expense paid book tour?? two, maybe three weeks?

All the prior sensory neglect of Terri is to try to prove a track record to the public and nursing staff that Michael really believed the PVS Diagnosis and was treating her accordingly. Now he is playing to the cameras and sympathies of the public, and trying to show his "human" side. BARF

Surrounded by stuffed animals and medical equipment in her small hospice room...
Setting aside that fact that Terri did not need "medical equipment" how did this reporter get inside the room?

Of course, obits are prepared in advance, but to describe that her husband was with her [before it happens] is a bit much to take, don't you agree.

Why didn't the writer say what he really meant: Dumb, underachieving white trash porker lapses into coma during embarrassing barfing episode. Hubby pulls plug and moves on 15 years later. CBS has outdone itself. Disgusting.
