LEVITTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Terri Schiavo's ashes will be buried in an undisclosed location near Philadelphia so that her immediate family doesn't show up and turn the burial into a media spectacle, a member of the Schiavo family said Thursday.
``If Mike knew they would come in peace, he would have no problem with it,'' Scott Schiavo, Michael Schiavo's brother, said during an interview at his home.
After an autopsy, Michael Schiavo plans to have his wife's body cremated and her ashes brought to Pennsylvania, where she grew up. Scott Schiavo said the ashes would be buried in a plot left by an aunt and uncle, but the family does not plan on providing the specficic location for the burial - underscoring the bitterness of the dispute.
Her parents, Bob and Mary Schindler, had fought for years to prevent her feeding tube from being removed, and they opposed cremation and wanted her buried in Florida.
Neither Terri Schiavo's parents nor her siblings addressed the issue of her burial in their remarks to reporters in Florida on Thursday. A spiritual adviser to her parents, Paul O'Donnell, said they plan to hold a Roman Catholic Mass without her body sometime next week.
Scott Schiavo said he received a stream of calls Thursday from people denouncing him. On his answering machine was a message from a man from Texas who called the Schiavo family murderers.
Police made visits Thursday to both Scott Schiavo's home and the home of his brother, William, in Philadelphia, as a result of threats to the families.
Scott Schiavo expressed relief that his sister-in-law's ordeal was over, and anger at those who have attacked the Schiavo family.
``This isn't over by a long shot, We're going to get our name right,'' he said. ``The world is going to know who Mike was, they're going to know Mike wasn't a beast.''
At Terri Schiavo's alma mater, Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, workers changed a sign that read ``Terri Schiavo, Class of 1981, We pray that you may live'' to ``We pray that you rest in peace.''
"Without any evidence" is a little bit of a stretch. Questionable evidence would probably be fairer. And of course, if it is true that he has denied therapy for Terri since 1993, denied having her teeth brushed, etc... then you really can't blame the parents for not being his best pals.

Cruel and unusual punishment.. This evil creep has acted by power of unjust and immoral judge as the executioner and owner master of Terri Schindler's body, alive and dead. Something is very wrong.

Just heard two nurses on Sean Hannity say that Michael DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH TERRI, DID NOT KNOW WHAT TERRI WOULD HAVE WANTED.....that he was cruel to her....ordered the blinds drawn at ALL TIMEs and ORDERED that the TV NEVER be TURNED on because she might HEAR something that upset her!

Both of these nurses gave affidavits to the court...BOTH OF THEM. THey worked at different facilities (micheal moved terri to a bunch of nursing homes in the years after he got his money...when the staff finally had had their fill of his brutal orders...he packed up terri and left....which meant the HOMES gave up MONEY to get that bastard out.
You'd think they'd be civil enough to have two funerals at the same site if they know they can't mix.
I'm sorry, that's ridiculous. It's the burial of their child. It's purely vindictive and cruel and serves absolutely no purpose to keep them away. It's just selfish and mean. Terri doesn't belong to him. They were truly married for 5 years for goodness sakes. He's been with another woman for a decade-plus. She was much closer to her family than this man she spent five years with.
Not only will they not be allowed to attend the burial OF THEIR OWN CHILD (and sister, and parishioner in the case of her priest), but she will be buried in a secret location so they won't even know what grave to visit? That's insane.
I repeat, Terri doesn't belong to him. He moved on and made another family a long time ago. I know you're a Schiavo-supporter. But it's actions like these that make it so easy to believe that Michael did not starve her because he had her best interests at heart. But because she belonged to him, and he could do what he pleased.
He's a bastard. If he's doing this just because he's a bastard, that's bad enough. But if he's doing this out of spite, he's an evil bastard.
Reading about the Schiavo case on FR has really opened my eyes to the number of sick and/or foolish people in the world.
Now I know why I don't talk politics in the real world: I'd find out how many people I really hate.
It's just possible that Terri's parents know a little more about the situation than you do.
I have missed most of this freeforall the past few weeks.
Now, perusing this and other like threads, I am not surprised at who are the Schiavo supporters here.....not at all.
He already has a new "wife". He's gotten his wish to kill Terri. The least he could do is let her parents have her poor starved, dehydrated body.
