Good morning! Thanks for the coffee and donuts, Fiddlstix! Hope you are feeling much better today.

Here's a bump for the FReepathon

A plea to the FReepers, Lurkers and Passers-By around the globe tuning into FR from all over the globe. There is no place or community like FR anywhere in the world.

Remember that FReedom is not FRee and neither is FRee Republic.

Please Donate if you can and keep the servers going and the databases growing.

Your donation, large or small, can and does make a difference. Thanks and God Bless.

NR

thank you for the church Valerie. I love churches. We have some of the prettiest little country churches here. In fact, I pastor the oldest UM church in the county. It was built in 1858.

Yes but....681 monthly donors out of 200,000 people is pitiful. I'm very proud of those who are donating monthly. God bless you every one, but I find it hard to believe that the other 1,993 Freepers are poverty stricken. I know that donating is strictly voluntary, but it's puzzling that so many think nothing of logging in to FR every day to get news from all over the world and believe that it happens without expense. Jim has kept FR going through lawsuits, floods, equipment breakdowns, lack of sufficient power, flame wars, opui, and things we probably never think of. Shame on anyone using Jim's site without feeling some obligation. That's my rant and I'm sticking to it.

From Post #1129

........Think of all the work it must take to keep this behemoth going. You try herding 200,000 opinionated conservatives.....

Ain't it the truth. I've owned a couple of small servers. It can be a hassle. I'll bet most people never stop to think about the hassle it is running something the size of FR.

JimRob should be a candidate for Sainthood! Thank you, Jim

Good song Cedar. I love country music. My son plays fiddle in the staff band at the Ohio Valley Opry in McConnellsville, Ohio.

I saw that! Great News!!

The Free Republic Lifeform

"... This is a wonderful description of what Free Republic really is. It is a living and evolving Life Form to battle the left wingers and those who would destroy this country!

The Free Republic Life Form enables us to discover the truth about what is happening. We can avoid the spin of the major mediots as they work 24/7 to weaken this country. We come to the Free Republic Life Form to find the truth! ...

Free Republic needs a constant infusion of cash to keep the Free Republic Life Form alive, viable and to grow. If we believe in Free Republic, we must donate each month or quarterly to keep this incredible life form alive...

Good stewardship is what this world needs, not good intentions. Good conservative stewards will insure that the Free Republic Life Form continues to grow, be viable and thrives!"

Tell him to practice and really get good at it. There is a big demand for "great" fiddle players.

Thanks for the compliment.

Happy Thursday everybody!

Capricorn, you had us all going there for a while!

Pay up to the FReepathon or your Humorscope comes TRUE!!!!
If it's good, I get 25%

Humorscope
Thursday, April 7, 2005

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

You will be struck by an odd thought, today. Fortunately it will be only a glancing blow, and will do little actual damage.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

Good day to let yourself go. Just be back by 10, OK?

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

If a wolf is chasing your sleigh, throw him a raisin cookie. That, of course, is a metaphor for what will really happen.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

A hive of naked mole rats will move in with you today. You will find that they are relatively tidy creatures, but that it's a trifle difficult to explain their presence to your friends.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

Excellent day to play the William Tell Overture really loud, and leap around flailing your arms. Try not to knock over the lamp.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)

Go find something flat, and scribble on it. People have been doing that for tens of thousands of years, and it's mostly been ok.

Libra (September 22 - October 22)

Good day for a nice nap.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)

An old man with bad teeth will whack you with his cane today, as you walk past. He'll pretend it was an accident.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

You've always felt, like Socrates, that the unexamined life is not worth living. There's no need to use a microscope, however.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 20)

It will turn out that all of your life up until now was just a peculiar dream, and that you are actually still only 2 years old. You will find this vaguely irritating.

Aquarius (January 21 - February 18)

What ever you do today, don't panic. Remember to bring a towel. Government bureaucracy figures heavily in your life, soon.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

Good day to begin that toothpick sculpture you've been thinking of. You'll be the only private individual (aside from Martha Stewart) who orders toothpicks by the case. Martha goes through several boxes just sticking breakfast together, I hear.

Yeah, I'd vote for sainthood for Jim. He's one of the most humble, sweet guys I've ever met. He's actually very shy, and I'm sure he wakes up at night wondering how he ever got into this mess. LOL.

Oh honey, he is good. He's been playing fiddle since he was 3 years old. He also plays mandolin, guitar (electric & acoustic), bass, drums, piano and sings lead and all harmony parts. He's a high tenor with a voice that is a cross between Vince Gill and Ricky Scaggs. He grew up on stage playing in his dad's band. He only does the opry now because he has a young family and owns his own photography studio.

Great post, WVNan!

You have to go to the Donation site to make a donation and just mark it as a "one time."

Thank you, WVNan!
