Just heard on Hugh Hewitt radio show that the maverick senator from arizona is planning to vote with the democrates on the fillibuster.

It is a good thing we have some padding in the senate after this last election. The Nelson Dims (FL and NE) will be voting with us too. I think the dims will fail to block Bush judicial nominees (at the end of the day). They are just too outnumbered.

I'm a former AZ resident and I'll take second place to nobody in my contempt for John McCain. However, it is his behavior since being elected to the Senate that is contemptible. It's not necessary to trash his Vietnam record - he didn't crash his airplane, it was shot out of the sky, and he was given more attention (the kind you don't want to have) than the other POW's because of his family ties.

Give the devil his due.
