RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY - Michael Savage blasts Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh

RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY

RABID radio host Michael Savage is whining that he has been banned from the Fox News Channel after he dissed Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

The controversial conservative — who was fired by MSNBC in 2003 after referring to a caller to his show as "a sodomite" who should "get AIDS and die" — recently burned more bridges by calling O'Reilly a "Leper-Con who poses as a conservative" and Hannity "another Republican bootlicker who began as a Rush [Limbaugh] understudy" on his "Savage Nation" radio show.

Savage claims that he's been bumped off four scheduled appearances on Fox News Channel in the wake of his caustic comments.

"These two are now acting the way the mainstream media has been acting for decades, thinking they are the gatekeepers of who shall be heard in the conservative world," Savage sputtered in a statement.

"Both are jealous of my audience and are trying to silence me because they do not want the competition."

Savage boasted that the supposed "ban" has not affected sales of his new book, "Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder," which debuts at No. 6 on the New York Times best-seller list next week.

The gay-bashing broadcaster isn't the only publicity hound taking aim at O'Reilly, the undisputed king of cable news.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue, famed for firing off several press releases a day to media outlets, is ticked that O'Reilly once described him as a "witch-hunter" and Pope John Paul II as an "autocrat."

"My members are a little bit fed up with him," Donohue claims. "I guess he feels like if he is to the left of me, he'll appear more fair and balanced. We're on the same side philosophically on most issues. But I feel like, when someone crosses the line from criticism

What do Limbaugh,Hannity, O'Wrongly, and Savage all have in common? Liberals loathe them. So that should tell us all something before we do their dirty work for them. The strategy maybe different but I feel the motive is the same from all these conservative talk show hosts and yes I do include O'Reilly still, to keep the country from falling into liberal hands.

Btw you can still get Savage on WIND 560 on the dial in the windy city from 5-8 pm.

Because people watch and listen to him see him for what he is... I got nothing against Hannity... he's got his schtick and it works for him... however for me, your show prep should be far more than getting your talking points memo for the day, and simply shouting down opposition by regurgitating the talking points instead of responding to what is presented to you.

never mind - I should have scrolled down. I had heard of this but never knew what it was called. One thing I'll never understand is the ridiculous ads he runs. They sound as if they were made by a freshman attending a communications school. Terrible. I would expect something far more professional from a national talk show.

I will try and listen for him. I usually don't go to work until 8 pm so I may not get to hear him often. Thanks for the info.

With all due respect, Savage is and always has been, a what you see is what you get kind of guy. No pretensions there. Bill O'Reilly runs in the holier than thou crowd and is a figment of his own imagination. Poor Sean Hannity. He's lost in space and survives on viewer sympathy. I mean how many years has the viewing audience waited for Sean to say something remarkable?

Good analysis. I love Savage most of the time. He is truly a conservative.

O'Reilly can't deal fairly with Savage, Coulter, or Malkin. They are all smarter than him and are much better at debate. I've seen O'Reilly be rude to all three on his program. He can't stand to have someone outshine him.

Hannity just is not that smart. He is nice and cute and can regurgitate his ideas over and over, but Savage thinks at a completely higher level. He is also very creative and quick, which Hannity just ain't.

Re: Your #186 ...

I find it interesting that in any and all articles about Michael Savage it is preceeded by ... "The controversial conservative — who was fired by MSNBC in 2003 after referring to a caller to his show as "a sodomite" who should "get AIDS and die" ... "

Like Anita Bryant, anyone who says anything negative about that perverse group of disease producing human misfits is drummed out of public view. Were it not so, the continual, and successful re-education of the masses would be in jepardy.

"Both are jealous of my audience and are trying to silence me because they do not want the competition."

I don't know the figures for O'Reilly's radio show, but Hannity is the no. 2 syndicated talker behind Rush. I'm sure "The Savage Nation" pales in comparison to those who have been Hannitized. BTW, is this grounds for getting Savage off the radio here in Austin and putting Reagan in his place?/hopeful

I question the timing of this.

Wait, no I don't! Savage has a new book out. Publicity!

No, that's called a hypocrite. People who make up those cutesy little terms like Leper-Con are called clinically insane.

Look, I don't know what the solution to the priest abuse problem is going to be, but I do know that if they can sue the RC church in America out of existence, they will. I'm not sure those 10s and 10s of millions they are paying out should be considered theirs to pay. That's the people's money. I think they should just turn the pedophile priests over to the law and wash their hands of them.

He is so washed up and laughable. Savage is the future of talk radio. Rush is the past. A great legend to be sure, but his time has come and gone.

I recently came across a VHS of Rush's "Rush to Excellence II" tour from 1990. The Rush of today is SOOO much better. Smarter, more clever, funnier, laser sharp and just downright RIGHT more often. I don't think he is washed up- I think he is aging very nicely.

Hmmmm.... Savitch is an Eastern European name, and I thought he was an Ashkenazi Jew from the east, not a German derivative like Michael Wiener. I guess it's common knowledge that that's his name, though, so I'll go wit' the flow. FTR, I don't think Wiener is a classicly jewish name either.

Yes, please, a verbal boxing match between O'Reilly and Savage---that would make up for all the Leftist protectionism and running-interference that Bill has been doing for the Libs for several years now.
All in the name of "fair and balanced" according to Bill. Because, "They all do it." as Bill would say. No matter what the "it" is that Libs do, "They all do it."
Makes my blood boil...

The Savage comments were in the context of wondering why Fox News was down in the ratings and CNN and MSNBC were up. He was posing that O'Reilly and Hannity & Colmes shows were the reason (I would lump in Greta and her obsession with Scott Peterson and Michael Jackson). He was looking for callers to offer up reasons why FOX took a dive. CBS took a dive too, but he had a reason for that - Bob Scheiffer is a tired old man.

I gave up on O'Reilly when he was all wrapped up in the teen sex thing. For me Hannity reminds me of Bob Dole in the old Congressional Records - my congressman used to mail them to me when I was in high school. They both ask the same question over and over and over. I just got bored with Hannity. Now in all fairness to Hannity, the people he interviews typically don't answer his questions so he has to keep asking them. At least Bob Dole would reword the question to try to trip up the responder.
