"allowed" 9/11 to happen? Please... warnings?

< cough >bojinka < /cough >

Not that finally "heeding" that warning by establishing the TSA makes a difference in our safety, either.

You are still trying to justify federal abuses by citing local abuses. Not to minimize the local abuse, but the Feds have been handed extraordinary powers with the PA. Powers that I don't want in any bureaucrat's toolbox to be used at will.

I find it illustrative that you have posted many posts to this thread, and have yet to actually say one clear thing about what it is you find wrong with the Patriot Act.

Just one.

Expansion of the Government's legal power to violate the privacy rights of American citizens without proper due process, accountability and sanctions against those government officials who ahuse their unlimited powers under the so-called "Patriot Acct."

The entire contents of this hastily passed, legal power grab by the Executive Branch is available for reading at several other websites. I will NOT debate the specifics of my objections with you and I will not take any bait to do so. Suffice it to say, I do share fmr. Congressman Barr's objections, as well as those of both true conservatives and even some liberals in the House.

Just contemplate how the "Homeland Security" and Justice Dept. appointees of a future Hillary Clinton presidency will use this "Patriot Act" to violate the constitutional rights and civil liberties of conservatives, gun owners, etc., once they take over the White House in 2008. Enuff said.

"The entire contents of this hastily passed, legal power grab by the Executive Branch..."

Whoops, this is corrected to instead read:

The entire contents of this hastily passed, power grab of legal authority by the Executive Branch..."

"Well... If I believed any of that stuff, I'd have a problem with it too. But nothing there is really true"

Then maybe you could tell me who makes up the FISA court?

I'm not talking about the pipeline.

I'm talking about the FBI agents up in Wisconsin that was trying to tell the FBI in Washingtoon that there were Arabs who were learning only how to fly jetliners....not land them.

I'm talking about the order given to federal agencies telling them not to investigate any of the Arabs who were in this country.

I'm talking about the story of David Schippers and his trying to warn the government about planned terrorist actions that went unheeded.

I'm talking about the loads of reports from around the world about information that was passed on to the US government from other governments that went unheeded.

I'm talking about the Clinton administration and it's lying about previous terrorist attacks that were covered up so to make Clinton look good.

I'm talking about the cover up of the first attack on the world trade towers.

All of this is documented and is part of the congressional record.

And of all people to have in charge of the investigation of 9/11....Bush picked Henry Kissinger.....yeah we really would get the truth from him.

"Bob Barr works for the ACLU." Correction Barr works for the ACU American Conservative Union. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Rifle Association.

As near as I can tell, Barr is a true libertarian and less of a conservative.

True conservatives, true liberals, and most libertarians, are basically against the so-called "Patriot Act."

No, Bob Barr is a true conservative. He is against abortion, gun control, gay marriage, drug abuse and other manifestations of secular Hollywood society. He is also a REAL Republican who favors limited government, fiscal responsibility, civil liberties and the Constitution.

The trouble is too many Republican party members think everything will be fine now that their guys are in charge, and no Republican sponsored abuse of rights is bad.

Such people must think Plato's Republic is a good template, assuming they are part of the philospher-king class. But what if they find themselves in the slave worker class instead?

The clothes, the weapons, the means of communication change, but the basic facts of human nature don't change.:lazy people want someone else to take care of them, and politicians are always willing to promise to do so in exchange for more ealth and authority.

Message to GOP leaders:

"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." -- Samuel Adams --

Bob Barr is a member of a communist founded organization whose goal is the destruction of America.

Bob Barr can rot in hell.
