VANITY: Anyone listening to Savage? He started with the First Lady
Me ^ | 4 MAY 2005 | Me

All right. Finished Medved, and on KSKY-660AM, Savage follows.

Get this: He immediately starts in with the First Lady, talked about how the "Bushes" played the Christian vote for suckers, and he gives compliments the first ladies of France and Germany over ours. Next, he whines about his being "blacklisted."

This mouthbreather is something else! Have at it. I had to share.

Anyone listening to Savage?

Now, that's a good question.

That show is downright funny and entertaining. And that is not an endorsement of his beliefs or opinions.

Call and in and throw some punches.

Yep, ol Hard Luck Charlie sold all those shortwaves and guess what, he's no longer on shortwave radio. And he had his second network "stolen" from him.

actually, Chuck is a lot like Jim R in terms of personality. But Chuck lost credibility during the Y2K thing when he sold all those windup radios, freeze dried food and other Y2K ditties that, well, were just not needed.

Hey, joesbucks, I already told you when I listen to him and why. So quit spamming the thread with the same reply to anyone you disagree with.

Good grief.

Well, I listen to Savage at least once a week.

He amuses me with his tirades and I like someone with strong opinions. Do I agree with him? A lot of the time but he is abrasive and doesn't understand that you have to be diplomatic at times in politics.

He is in perpetual meltdown, or at least a feigned perpetual meltdown. He should cut some slack for folks sometimes but hell, he is Savage.

As for him saying this crap. WTF? He is tightly wound, eh?

Arioch7 out.

Savage is a bitter, angry man. Sometimes it's funny. Sometimes, it's just irritating. Kind of depends on whether I agree with him or not.

In any case, he's not the guy you send out to convert the lunatics.

I was flipping back and forth between Savage and Hannity. I heard Doug from Upland on Hannity. Hannity wanted to know if we FReepers are still mad at him and why conservatives eat their own.

rush used to make fun of liberals cause it seemed like they always ate their own, couldn't stick to the agenda and the like.

Boortz is easy to agree on almost everything until he starts in anti-abortion advocates. On that point he is nothing but a POS goon.

"Hannity wanted to know if we FReepers are still mad at him and why conservatives eat their own."

Hannity is the one who needs to get over it. Conservatives don't have to agree on everything, it is not in our nature to begin with.

When did they change the name of the Concord Pavillion to the Chronicle Pavillion?

I left the area 17yrs ago.

They never seemed to get big artists there. Just once in a while.

I went to see Sade twenty yrs. ago. there

The Bay area is the most beautiful place to live in and it's maddening to see how it has changed in the last 30 years.

Still, his radio show is over the top for me most of the time. He certainly isn't converting liberals with it.

Every one of these guys has a place.

Rush made me realize, years and years ago, that I was actually a conservative— which came as a quite a shock. I think Laura Ingrahm fits in this category as well. And on his good days...the much maligned O'Reilly.

Guys like Hannity are the cheerleaders. Once you've "joined the team" you stand around for awhile navel gazing and pointing out to everybody else how cool the team is. He does a great job in that role. Eventually it gets tedious.

Once you've been here awhile, guys like Prager, Medved, Boortz and Hewitt are around to help you sharpen your understanding and ability to debate things rationally.

Then, when things aren't going your way...Savage is the angry stage.

At least, that's how it's been for me. Haven't gotten permanently to the Savage stage yet. Kind of hoping I never do.

I once loved the Bay Area. No more. Yes, 30 years (more like 40) -- it's a beautiful place to visit; but very hard to live there.

Do you remember Michael in the beginning of his "broadcasting"? He could galvanize people, majorly. I don't think he's trying to convert liberals, anymore. I observed his change -- after the Pat Buchanan "flip". I think Michael took Pat's "flip" very hard.

I suppose one's mouthbreathing source is another's entertainment source. Many of the people here at FR continue to support the alphabet broadcast television channels and there hasn't been anything at ABCBSNBC helpful to conservatism in twenty five years.

"Conservative Christians got what they wanted."

Could you please enlighten me as to what it was they wanted and more particularly, what it is you say that they got?

When did they change the name of the Concord Pavillion to the Chronicle Pavillion?

A couple of years ago. They also built out the reserved seating section into what was the lower part of the grass seating. That was because they weren't getting the big acts with the small reserved seating section.

Now they've added much more seating, still have a small grass section, and built a whole food court off to the side.

Try Neal Boortz

I've heard him a few times. With the exception of his views on homosexuality, I haven't heard him say anything to which I bear any serious objection.
