Planned Parenthood launches campaign against Pope Benedict XVI
Catholic News Agency [also on EWTN News] ^ | May 3, 2005

Posted on 05/07/2005 6:43:50 PM PDT by topher

New York, May. 03, 2005 (CNA) - Planed Parenthood has launched a campaign to motivate all of its members and supporters, nominal Catholics and non-Catholics, to send letters to the editor, requesting that Pope Benedict XVI reconsider his “backward views” and change his opinion on sexual morality.

Pope Benedict XVI must be encouraged to “reconsider his dangerously outdated stances on birth control, abortion and sexuality in order to help move the Catholic Church into the 21st century,” reads a memo issued by campaign manager Eve Fox.

“The new Pope's positions on these crucial issues pose a terrible danger to the health of millions of women and girls around the world and undermines efforts to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS,” Fox wrote.

The campaign manager justified this action, saying that the “the Church has tremendous influence over many governments, especially in Latin America, and plays a powerful role in shaping social and political norms around the world.”

Calling him “even more conservative” than Pope John Paul II, Fox told her supporters that Pope Benedict XVI is “against all forms of contraception and opposes the use of condoms to prevent HIV/AIDS.”

Prior to being elected Pope, Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger “told Catholics in the U.S. it would be a sin to vote for pro-choice candidates like John Kerry, and urged bishops to deny Kerry Communion. He has also led the Catholic Church's campaign against same-sex marriage and other rights for same-sex couples, including the right to adopt children,” wrote Fox

Planned Parenthood are the folks that has the worst condoms -- most likely to break and therefore creates a market for their abortion mills.

Planned Parenthood receives funding from the Federal Government, from some state governments, and some local governments.

Planned Parenthood also receives significant funding from the United Way -- if give the United Way, you are probably contributing to sex education and abortion clinics and free faulty condoms.

Doesn't claiming that these stances are outdated imply that at one point they weren't? If so what caused it besides the sudden secularization of the world?

Ping -- please use your ping lists -- one thing that can be done is try to stop government funding for Planned Parenthood, its sex education programs -- as well as the fact they advocate that young girls have abortions [without parental consent and be able to have their adult boyfriends transport them across state lines].

"How many letters have we received, my son?"

"Dozens, sir. Almost 100."

Note that they claim that he is "even more conservative" than the previous pope. People who have studied Margaret Sanger, realize she was deeply tied to Nazi Germany before World War II.

It is my personal opinion that Margaret Sanger had to abandon her previous organization and form Planned Parenthood because of these strong ties to the plan for the Master Race.

She formed Planned Parenthood in January of 1942 -- just days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and also just days after the US declared war on Nazi Germany.

Maybe Ms Fox would want us to adopt again the vision of Adolf Hitler for the Master Race -- which Margaret Sanger had for the United States.

Margaret Sanger planned to eliminate blacks, Indians (native Americans) and Catholics as part of her plans to get rid of undesirables.

It is Catholics that are the targets. Planned Parenthood endorsed John Kerry for president (and the fellow from Massachusetts is supposedly a Catholic -- though not a Catholic in good standing according to the laws of the Catholic Church. John Kerry is divorced but re-married without an annulment, and is a strong supporter of abortion and infanticide.)

His views? The pope's function is to conserve the deposit of faith entrusted to St. Peter and the Apostles by our Lord, Jesus Christ. Eve Fox needs to take this up with "higher" sources.

I think this is hilarious.

If Planned Parenthood wants to waste its time and money trying to convince the Holy Father to bless abortions, let them.

Less time and money spent on influencing US policy that way.

Brief follow-on to post #14:

Catholics for a Free Choice is funded by the Rockefeller Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and I think also the Packard Foundation.

Obviously support to divide the Catholic Church would be no different than Planned Parenthood attacking Baptists or other Christians and trying to split them apart as well.

Ironically the tension between the Catholic church and the pagans over abortion is not new. Its as old as the Church itself. The Church knows this. The NAGS do not.

The following statement was made by a church council at Ancyra in A.D. 314 :

Concerning women who commit fornication, and destroy that which they have conceived, or who are employed in making drugs for abortion, a former decree excluded them until the hour of death, and to this some have assented. Nevertheless, being desirous to use somewhat greater lenity, we have ordained that they fulfill ten years [of penance], according to the prescribed degrees.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

Pope Benedict XVI must be encouraged to “reconsider his dangerously outdated stances on birth control, abortion and sexuality in order to help move the Catholic Church into the 21st century CULTURE OF DEATH, WHICH WILL HOPEFULLY DESTROY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND CHRISTIANITY AS A WHOLE,” reads a memo issued by campaign manager Eve Fox.

There are bad apples within the church. For example, Sister Helen Prejean had to change her stand on abortion when she came out against the death penalty.

Initially, she thought it was bad to kill condemned criminals (which society has been doing for a loooonnnggg time) but it was okay to kill the itty bitty babies.

And they can be converted. Many of these bad apples may just go to hell.

The nerve of these people is sickening.

For decades, Planned Parenthood has been pushing the corrupting sex education curriculum into public schools.

Playboy and Hugh Hefner got their start because back in the 1940s, Planned Parenthood was able to get US Post Office to start shipping pornography through the mail. Our great Judeo-Christian heritage of this country had put laws in place before then to prevent pornography from being sent in the mail.

About as safe a bet as can be made. The last president of Planned Parenthood stepped down after the 2004 election -- one reason given was her getting Planned Parenthood to endorse John Kerry.

However, the pope might resign if really serious health problems arise. Such as the effects of old age that would affect the pope's judgement. John Paul did not have this -- he just had health problems. Parkinson's was rough on him, but he still was an outstanding scholar even in his last years.

Simple question ~ Why?

This is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen on this planet of ours. Urging non-Catholics to write? For what? Makes no sense at all.

Of course if the Church would not allow sinful behaviour and bend for Henry VIII or Philip of France what do these kooks expect to gain?

Very few United Ways give to Planned Parenthoods. Each United Way in each county or geographical area is independent and autonomous. The state, federal and other federated campaigns include Planned Parenthood BUT these campaigns are NOT United Way. United Way and their agencies are just one choice. Again, 99% DO NOT fund planned parenthood and also about 98% still support the boyscouts through their ordeal. Freepmail me if you want more info. I sense a flame war coming on and I'm sick of them! I have a news flash for Ms. Fox, the very things she is promoting is what is ruining women's lives. I spent my career working in women's health care, and I never heard of an unintended pregnancy or abortion with abstinence, nor did I ever hear of it causing any STDs.

An early Christian text called the Didache (or Teaching of the Twelve Apostles), which apparently dates from the first half of the second century, explicitly condemns abortion and infanticide (along with murder, adultery, corruption of children, fornication, etc.).

Even the pagan Roman poet Ovid, whose sexual ethics were far removed from the Judaeo-Christian norms, abhorred abortion.

I have a suggestion for Planned Parenthood. Why don't they just come right out and say that their target is GOD, rather than the pope. They don't like His rules, they don't like His laws, they don't like His morality, and they want Him to change.

The only problem with that is, He's already stated His position on changing His policies. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
