A Romanian traffic cop has been demoted after he fined a driver for “having a face like a moron and being a big monkey”. Marius Vlasceanu pulled over Gheorghe Tosa as he drove through Craiova in Romania, local daily Jurnalul National reported. But Tosa failed to see the funny side as Vlasceanu fined him £22 and handed him a ticket explaining the reason for the fine was “having a face like a moron and being a big monkey”. ananova

When my father was a cop he would tell me that whenever he arrested a belligerent drunk they would always scream "whatd I do!" or "whats the charges!". He would always answer the same way: "being ugly in the nighttime is a crime in this city" or "being stupid after sundown".

Just don't let DC Mayor Tony Williams know about this story. If all of his radar cameras aren't pulling in enough bucks, he might just get the cops to try something like this. And there are some mornings when I come into DC, shall we say, not on top of my game and not looking as spiffy as usual.

Today's "Super Troopers" trivia: in the scene when Farva (Kevin Heffernan) and Thorny (Jay Chandrasekhar) pull over an older couple and Farva calls the husband "chicken f*cker," the older couple is Heffernan's parents.
Heffernan told them he'd be saying something risque, but didn't specify so as to maximize their reactions.
