Tancredo and his ilk are keeping anything meaningful from being passed so the only thing that has a chance is a left of center bill like Kennedy/McLame

That is probably tancredo's objective, akin to jesse jackson and sharpton, keep the issue alive.

Exactly. Tancredo (and his worshipers) would rather nothing happen so he can keep grandstanding the issue, get attention from people like Lou Dobbs, and of course receive those all important donations to his master's (Pat Buchanan) PAC.

If people really want something done about illegal immigration, they would tell people like Tancredo to take a hike and work with reasonable members of Congress who aren't concerned only with themselves. I guess they could always try to get Hillary on their side. After all, she has a plan to control immigration.

What??? And they cannot spam FR with doom and gloom immigration threads and calling people who point out the fallcay, FROBL's, FOQNA's etc.

Sheesh dude, that's kinda of like asking chuckie schumer to give up the grandstanding in front of a TV camera, and you would get the same reaction if you asked chuckie schumer to abscond from the TV camera, a rat cornered.

Explain to me how any plan that granted illegals legal status could not be an amnesty. You can argue one plan or another is the best course of action or that deporting millions may be logistically too difficult but you cant change the meaning of "amnesty".

If the administration offered to compromise with or concede ANYTHING on this issue to those 100 members of his own party something could be passed tomorrow.
