Free Republic Military?
5/16/05 | Guard Dog

I just read a post on conservative blog that stated few freepers were veterans (implication was that we were chicken hawks). Having conversed with many of you and met a few, I do not believe that is the case. But it did get me wondering, who among us is active or prior service veterans? Awright you freeper vets SOUND OFF!

Dear Dog, Nam Vets, families, active duty personnel, and all other patriotic Americans.

This is something I was inspired to compose on the night before the elections (November 1st last year at about 5:00 p.m.); so certain was I, that Kerry would lose the election and that "we" Nam Vets and all those who worked so diligently to help us expose this “Phony-Fraud-Traitor”--while not the ONLY reason, would definitely, be a key factor in his losing the election.

Though I sent copies to several Nam Vets and other individuals that night, it has never been publicly posted, though Gary, at Viper http://members.aol.com/viperash50/page2/index.htm did post it on his site (A GREAT PLACE FOR NAM VETS AND OTHERS TO VISIT) and made a slight adjustment—which was fine by me—and is listed under “The Real Reason Kerry Lost the Election.”

Perhaps, this is the right time and the right place to post it and here, on FreeRepublic which is undoubtedly one of the best places to do so, where, the majority are true, honorable, Patriotic Americans.

If anyone who is interested and cannot save this, please email me and I’ll send you a copy of mine.

Anyone is welcome and fee to share with whoever and as I am not certain who and how to “ping” (still being a “newbie” with only 9 months experience LOL) please feel free to do so for me. Thanks.

God Bless all Freepers; God Bless our Military, and may He watch over them; and God Bless America.

(In order to save bandwidth I have reduced the size and therefore, am including the poem to make it easier to read)

The only combat I saw envolved intoxicated GI's in the bars of Grafenwohr, Germany while I was over there helping to protect the free world from the scourges of the godless communist.

I spent two years in last graph. 83-85. I was with A and HQ 3/60.

Well there are a bunch of wusses here. On every other posting board I'm on I'm the only guy that was regular Army. Everybody else was spec-ops or some such thing.
