LOL. I used to spell good, but after I hit the big five-O, my how-to-spell neurons atrophied.

This spell check doesn't help either. It just seems to offer a larger variety of misspelled words.

Private or not, in my state GS Article 10, S.65-74 allows for a person to enter private property to "maintain" WITH CONSENT. Barring that consent, S.65-75 allows any person with a vested interest in a grave in a cemetery on private property to petition the Clerk of Court for an order of access for "maintenence", overriding any property owners' objections.

If Mitt Romney is serious about a presidential bid, he must show up at this cemetery Monday with flowers in his hand and those of his staff. What will they do? arrest him?

"This cemetary is private property! We have our rules and we do not allow people to put anything on a grave unless they are a relative!"

Not sure why people are attacking this guy. This is private property, after all.

And this boy's story is an inspiration to me - the fact that he lives in such a hotbed of idiots and yet wants to do the right thing - gives me real hope.

Actually, that kid should write to Governor Romney and explain the situation. Maybe he can get the Governor to assist him in distributing the flowers.

That would REALLY make the Rustees (T deliberately omitted) of the Cemetery look bad!

Until the occupants say otherwise, the kid should be free to carry out his patriotic mission.

Patriots such as this kid and those old soldiers resting there, share a kindred much closer than relatives.

>The boy started collecting money with which to buy the flowers several months ago and now has several flats of flowers he planned to put on veterans' graves

My Mother and I
just returned from putting flowers
and a flag on my

Dad's grave. The thing is,
cemeteries have guidelines
for what can and can't

be put at grave sites
because 1) workmen maintain sites;
2) the cemetery's

appearance is part
of what you buy when you buy
a grave site. Loose flats

of flowers
can blow wild,
and planting them can disturb
maintenance routines.

This is one of those
stories that sounds outrageous,
but is common sense.

Each grave in that Cemetary is the private property of it's occupant. The Head terd, merely works for them.

Dead people can't own anything. But they can vote in Chicago.

The cemetary has rules in place for a very good reason- the cemetary is required to clean up whatever is left on the graves.

My question, is the kid going to maintain those flowers? A better tribute would be an American Flag over each grave, removed the next day and placed on 4th of July, Veterans day etc.

Some people's definition of common sense, makes it seem like a very sickening trait that should be avoided. Especially when described by those completely devoid of that quality.

The holes don't want the expense of having to remove all the flowers when they have wilted.

I don't know where you went to college, but where I come from the word "cemetery" does not contain the letter "a."

Uh oh...
Now you went and did it.

Next thing you'll be telling us is that spelling is an optionally "living process". Homophobe!
