AMERICA..."F*CK YA"....!
Freedom aint free. It costs a buck oh five.
This movie is not satire, it's a true-life documentary of Kim Jong-Il, Michael Moore, and the Film Actors Guild.
They took their sweet time getting the DVD out, didn't they? Waiting for my copy now...
I couldn't believe I liked it either. (;
I adored this movie - it's absolutely hilarious and completely and totally vile. I saw it 2x in the theaters (2nd time had to bring DH, who didn't want to go with us the first time) and then bought the DVD the day it came out.
The diff between the theatre and the "unrated" version, from what I can tell, is a nasty addition to the "puppet sex" scene.
My favorite scene is the where they release the "panthers" onto the 2 Team America members. So as not to spoil it for anyone who hasnt seen it yet, I won't tell you what those panthers actually are.
It's definitely best the first time through, because of the pure shock of it mixed with the comedy. But the DVD is worth it to see how they did it.
I agree it deserved some Oscars but after what it did to Hollywood (F.A.G.!) there's no way they would let them have any.

Maatt Daaamon!
Remember, there's no "I" in Team America...well, actually there is one near the end...a small one
When I saw it in the theater, it must have been "divorced dads' day with the kids", because there were a lot of four- and five-year-olds there with their fathers to see "the puppet movie." I'll bet they learned some interesting new words to repeat to Mom when they got home...LOL!
And what's this "guilty pleasure" crap? I didn't feel guilty watching "TEAM AMERICA". I didn't feel guilty telling everybody I knew just how hysterically funny it was.
Enjoying a comedy about a bunch of cursing puppets who defeat one of the world's most brutal dictators is a "guilty pleasure", but cheering for another, completely serious movie that tries to tell us how great life was under the thumb of another of the world's most brutal dictators, ISN'T?! C'mon, Washington Times.

With luck, my copy (unrated, repaired, super-dirty-puppet version) should be in the mailbox tomorrow!

and retailing for $29.98
Talk about sticker shock. The movie is great, but 29.98 is the price of a tv dvd set, not a movie.
That is outrageous. I will wait until they have a copy at thet local used movie store and I can get it for 7 bucks.
"Yes, it is. Now............"
I couldn't breathe I was laughing so hard.
Some parts should be seen by EVERYONE, and some should not be seen by anyone ;~D
Biggest laugh I ever had in a theater, and a worthy DVD with lots of good extras.
There is just so much I love about that movie. From the Hollywierd Lefties (and Has Blix) dying to the Kim Jong Il puppet (I'm so wonrey). And the theme song! "America F**k Yeah!"
watching it again tonight
By the way, folks, Russell Crowe's new film, Cinderella Man, comes out tomorrow (Fri).
