Gitmo Study Sparks Arab Probe of Bible Abuse

(2005-06-04) -- Friday's release of a Pentagon study on mishandling of the Koran at Guantanamo Bay detention center has sparked Saudi Arabia's leader to call for similar probes of Bible handling in detention facilities throughout the Muslim world.

Since May, the Pentagon has examined thousands of pages of documentation, finding five confirmed cases of Koran mishandling by U.S. personnel, and 15 cases in which Muslim prisoners desecrated their own complimentary copies of the book that they had received from the U.S. government. The Pentagon has distributed some 1,600 taxpayer-funded copies of the Muslim Holy Book to suspected terrorists detained at Gitmo.

Saudi leader King Fahd today, called on his fellow monarchs and dictators throughout the Arab world to complete a full review of any complaints about mishandling of holy scriptures which Muslim governments have distributed to their Christian and Jewish prisoners.

"I feel confident that this probe will reveal no cases of Muslim or Arab guards abusing Bibles issued by Muslim governments," said the King. "But in the spirit of respect for religious freedom and pluralism, we will examine our own policies and procedures and make a full, public report within 30 days."

From your link:

"Angry Orthodox priests showed reporters empty bottles of whiskey, champagne, vodka, cognac and French wine on the floor along with hundreds of cigarette butts."

This so-called "religion" DESERVES to have its book flushed. It's trash and they're all liars.

"Saudi leader King Fahd today, called on his fellow monarchs and dictators"

I thought they had already sent the king to the taxidermist for some "cosmetic surgery".

If it weren't for us, they wouldn't even have a koran.

Or toilets that flush for that matter.

"Rumsfeld should fire the guy who gave them Korans in the first place. That was a very stupid thing to do."

YUP, that's been my thought in all of this - I was amazed when I first heard we were giving Islamo-fascist terrorists a personal Koran to mull over and worship, when we should have been showing them all 24/7 Britney Spears videos or whatever would break their will to resist the infidels..... why are we HELPING to sustain the consciousness of depraved terrorists who want to kill us all? These are not POWs in some traditional war.

And then there are the terrible allegations that a couple of female interrogators may have done something "sexually suggestive" in front of a couple of detainees..... big frickin' deal! Boo hoo....

I'm still just waiting for some media commentator to point out that this terrible 'charge' would make Gitmo NO WORSE THAN BILL CLINTON'S OVAL OFFICE!!!! What a horror show, what a torture chamber.....

I know, I know, the horror is that the pristine, pure delicate Muslim terrorists just cannot bear any temptation or exposure to decadent infidel females..... TOUGH!
They should have thought of that before they embarked on their terrorist careers.....

"Two of the documented offenses involved "female interrogators who, on their own initiative, touched and spoke to detainees in a sexually suggestive manner." "

Of course not. They do not allow it to be inside the Islamic countries...let alone in their prisons.

For the same reason that we're preparing Halal meals for them ... because this country values freedom of religion. The cost for the Koran, BTW, is inconsequential - about the cost of a single meal. Detention operations are expensive. The cost of Koran isn't.

Did they wear gloves when issuing the bible? Did they ever drop it, accident or not? Did any body fluid ever touch the bible by a non Christian?

If lying is a part of their warfare and the MSM reports on it then our MSM should investigate any report from our side. The MSM claims they are impartial, now prove it!
I'll be calling all the MSM's report divisions on Monday making my claims.

At Gitmo we should have put a Bible and the Koran in each cell. I'm sure the terrorists would have mangled the Bible. Then no matter who did what to the Koran, we could have said , so they did it to the Bible so what's the big deal?

I'm using my Koran as toilet paper. I love the thought of leaving crap on Mohammed the Pedophile. Makes my day.

They won't find any abuse of the bible in Saudi prisons, because the Saudis don't give bibles to prisoners and bibles are destroyed either at the point of entry into the country or soon after they are found.

If we want to insure this never happens gain then we should stop giving prisoners the Koran. If the Muslims want to complain about not being able to practice their faith just point them in the direction of Saudi.

I may be wrong, but I thought the International Red Cross made them do it.

Walking into the room unveiled probably qualifies. ;)
