The Student Movement Website has been Shutdown! AGAIN!
Aryo Pirouznia, director of the Student Movement Coordinating Committee for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI) just told me that their new website host has shut down their site citing complaints over spam emails. This is unbelievable since he said they have never sent him any complaints about their emails.
It looks like we need to find him a reliable web host. Time is running out!! The elections are coming in just 11 days. We need this resource up!
It appears someone does not want this site up.
Contact me if you have any recommendations for him. What ails Iranians?
Reza Bayegan, Ekbatan Observer Blog:
There are no short cuts from tyranny to liberty. As it is evident in the example of Iraq, removing the dictator is only the first step in the long arduous process of democratization. Tyranny has one thing in common with liberty: it sends deep, powerful roots into the collective psyche of the society. These tenacious roots affect a population's habits, attitudes and way of life. Today those who are busy thinking of a means of putting an end to clerical dictatorship in Iran should at the same time not lose sight of the necessity of thinking out a plan for healing those malignant moral maladies caused by long term despotism. How true! Good luck with the upcoming elections.
Do you think the mullahs sitting in Tehran are having their goons food the website with spam?
That quote could just as easily have been attributed to the throwing off of the chains of King George III. Good job to the Persian patriots! I see a lot of similarities between you and our own Founding Fathers.
Either the complaints are bogus, or the mullahs had someone hack in to the website and sent out spam.
Still, watching this, it all reminds me of a T-shirt I saw advertised about 20 years ago. It showed the word "Solidarnosc" being run over by a Soviet tank - only to have the letters re-appear behind the tank even bigger.
Very interesting observation & correlation concerning the "Solidarnosc" T-shirt.
The main item keeping the mullahs in power is the vast source of wealth via exported oil, allowing them the luxury of maintaining the expenses of running an Islamic police state injecting fear & terror into everyday life.
Nothing lasts forever. Their time is coming, just as Saddam fell from power so will the mullahs, although the current situation is far more dangerous then the Iraqi, with the Iranian nuclear aspect and all that other oil sitting directly across the Gulf in easy reach of Iran's missile range.
UN why R U silent?!!

I just heard from Aryo Pirouznia, director of the Student Movement Coordinating Committee for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI) he told me that their website is back online.
Just as mysteriously as it went down, the web host decided to put it back up.
We will post more on this later.
We want to thank everyone that responded to our call form help.
I believe, collectively our efforts made the difference.
