Hakha movement press release

The Popular Hakha Movement for Freedom in Iran has called for peaceful uprisings on June 16th starting at 10 a.m. Tehran time of the current year against the oppressive and terrorist Islamic Republic of Iran. Under the leadership of Dr. Ahura-Pirouz Khaleghi Yazdi, the people will not rest until freedom and democracy have been established in Iran. The Iranian people have demanded and will take their self-determination.

The aim of this national uprising is to overthrow the despotic regime in order to institute national self-determination, the principles of secular democracy, the doctrine of separation of church and state, the capacity for responsible self-government, the respect for individual and universal human rights and for the provision of institutions of ordered liberty essential for a free Iran

"The Hakha Movement" is a freedom coalition of pro-democracy Iranians. Through messages transmitted 24 hours per day seven days per week into Iran via satellite television, radio, and the Internet, The Hakha Movement only preaches a method of peaceful non-cooperation through protests, boycotts, and sit-ins.

The Hakha Movement's "10 Principles" reject any form of violence and terrorist activities and promotes non-aggression. Therefore, the blame for any violent acts will lay with the terrorist Mullah regime or other organizations.

Dr. A.F.K. Yazdi has also called on the Revolutionary Guards and the paramilitary forces of the regime in Iran to help with this movement. According to the most recent reports directly from Iran, the Guards and Paramilitary Forces have shown marked differences in their attitude toward the people, and have joined the Movement to change the regime in Iran.

I see these topics get posted alot.

Do you really think anything will change unless there is a invasion?

I have not really seen one muslim nation's people rise up against their goverment in my short lifetime.

I hope stuff changes there, and you appear to know alot about the Iran freedom movement. what do you think?

DoctorZin reports, 6.14.2005:

Today's demonstration at Evin Prison

As we reported earlier, the Iranian Writers Association held a demonstration in front of the infamous Evin Prison in Tehran, today. The demonstration was calling for the release of political prisoners held there. Most of Iran's leading dissidents are held in this prison. This is the same prison that Canadian journalist Kazemi was tortured and subsequently died just for photographing the prison.

Many were arrested but later released, according to Radio Farda. Here are a few photos of these courageous people.
Here are a few other news items you may have missed.
And finally, photos and a cartoon:

I think they will rise up and throw out the current government and it is not long coming.

I hope they will have the foresight to change the name of the country to Persia and to reestablish Persian culture.

Iran did have a none religious peaceful democratic revolution as a Muslim nation back in 1953. Today’s revolution has been happening in the minds and heart of Iranian people. The idea of foreign invasion of Iran is only talk since the enemies of the Iranian people like EU3 keep supporting the mullahs for their contracts at the cost of Iranian lives, which as you know, makes the invasion idea mute since they like the mullahs exactly where they are. But, it’s the long and constant desire of Iranians for freedom that will not go away. The anti regime movements reminds the world every day to uncomfortably just talk about changes necessary for Iran. Rest assured, this revolution will happen, sooner than later. You’ll be challenged to find another nation whose people so vocally have expressed their desire for freedom since before 1953.

Me either, but Iranians did overthrow the Shaw in 1979, the same year I was born. If anyone can, it would be them. They have experience.
