7:00 p.m. on Thursday July 21, 2005, 16th Annual Conference, Bethany College - Lindsborg, Kansas. Sex and Power: Women, Men, Sexism and the Future, Susan Estrich keynote speaker, Reception following.
Thanks for that post. I needed that.
Ah, Susan... The gal who said on the night of Nov 2, 2004 that the exit polls are always right. Kerry and his people must have had big smiles on their faces at that point.
:-)
Last time I saw her on Fox she seemed drunk or drugged or something. Literally.
Well, the good news is, she has to go clear to central Kansas to find people to listen to her.
Listen, anyone close to Kansas, the site of the College, Lindsborg, is a wonderful place to visit. It is a lot like Solvang, CA only on the prairie.
And that's the shame of it all. Lindsborg is a lovely little community, brick streets, clean homes. The campus is rather ugly but the town is lovely.
Well, you can deal with the ugliness by having chicken dinner at the Brookville Hotel (or where ever they serve it these days.)
Last I heard, the Brookville hotel had closed which is a shame. They have sand streets there.
The Brookville Hotel restaurant business is no longer in the town of Brookville. A new building that looks like it has been built just north of I-70 in Abilene, KS and carries the name Brookville Hotel. Last I knew the old building was still standing in Brookville. If my memory is correct they had sewage problems & decided to move to where thsy thought the dollars were.
It certainly is! Not far from Salina, KS. I bought a Dala horse at that shop with the huge horse in front, where they make them.
Hylldingfest, every two years, is well worth the trip if you like things Norwegian, Swedish, & scandinavian.
Mak sa tykit, Lindsborg.

I am 10 miles south of Lindsborg in McPherson.
It is a great town. But Bethany, being ELCA, is a liberal college.
It is really tough for me to even call them Christian.
I don't know if I can stand to go to this.
Then WHY are you asking me to go to one????
Seriously, I would like to hear your take on the Supremes nomination. I would love to see Robert Bork or Zell Miller nominated for the laugh factor (let's see Chuckie Schumer explode!!!!). I hear the mention of all the unknowns - the two Mikes are the most interesting to me. But I think one very serious candidate should be Janice Rogers Brown. What do you think?
this nomination is in the category of "things over which I have no control" a large category. I watch with bemused interest.
Good morning Free State. I'd like Brown or Olson. Miler would be a riot :-)
