Others at Finest might enjoy checking this out.... Quaker Square Hotel

Will see what else is out there. AAA never gives a full picture. Just what places paid for ads.. Will send rest by email..but most here at Finest enjoy seeing interesting places in various locales.

Good afternoon all the Finest.

Dolly - there is no good Samaritan with a wireless laptop allowing this post, nor it it my dear hubby fulfilling his promise that he would hit all my regular threads this evening with an update.

It's really me, in the flesh *and plaster and metal) posting from home :)

Everyone, particuarly me, was quite stunned when I woke up back in the pre-op room I had been in before surgery. As the surgeon explained to hubby, the plate was all the stabilazattion needed and there was no need for any further invasive work and I could go home as soon as I demonstrated that the effects of the spinal had fully worn off.

That feat was accomplished before 2 o'clock, but we decided to hold off until after hubby picked Jax up from camp and he would come back in my car, instead of the pickup. Even though my Escort is a little car, it is 4 door and I was able to keep my leg elevated the entire ride home :)

Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes.

Happy TGIF everyone.

Do you know about the Polish man that immigrated to the USA and married an American girl? Well, although his English was far from perfect, they got along very well until one day he rushed into a lawyer's office and asked him if he could arrange a divorce for him - "very quick." The lawyer said that the speed for getting a divorce would depend on the circumstances, and asked him the following questions:

LAWYER: "Have you any grounds?"

POLE: "Ja, Ja, acre and half, and nice little home."

LAWYER: "No," I mean what is the foundation of this case?"

POLE: "It made of concrete."

LAWYER: "Does either of you have a real grudge?"

POLE: "No, we have carport, and not need one."

LAWYER: "I mean, what are your relations like?"

POLE: "All my relations still in Poland."

LAWYER: "Is there any infidelity in your marriage?"

POLE: "Ja, we have hi- fidelity stereo set and good DVD player."

LAWYER: Does your wife beat you up?"

POLE: "No, I always up before her."

LAWYER: "Is your wife a nagger?"

POLE: "No, she white."

LAWYER: "WHY do you want this divorce?"

POLE: "She going to kill me."

LAWYER: "What makes you think that?"

POLE: "I got proof."

LAWYER: "What kind of proof?"

POLE: "She going to poison me. She buy a bottle at drugstore and put on shelf in bathroom. I can read, and it say, 'Polish Remover'."

LOLOL

That is awful!!! :)

Thanks for the laugh, Victoria.

Are you ready for the weekend?

Weekends are not very different that any other day except we usually see our son at least one day.

We are going to the circus tomorrow. :) Doesn't that sound like fun?

Hi Amy.

I'm always ready for the weekend, which by the way seems to last a few hours instead of days.

We are going to the circus tomorrow.

Sounds great. I'm sure Marissa is going to like it.

Hello! Thanks for the ping. Sorry I didn't respond earlier but am just now logging on. I saw pookies' thread before it was pulled this A.M There was one toon that made me gasp but I don't understand why they pulled the whole thread. The toon just implied that Osama is in with the Dems in a graphic pic. While I didn't care for the visual I got the point of the picture. :) Don't know who complained. Everyone that I saw this morning said what they usually do. "Good toons pookie." And the toons were good ones. :) He does a good job and I always enjoy his threads first thing in the morning with my coffee.

There will be 6 of us going ..... three adults and 3 kids. All the kids are excited.

I haven't been to a circus for a very long time. I'm sure I will enjoy it.

Rest In Peace

Read:
Psalm 4:1-8

I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. —Psalm 4:8

Bible In One Year: Isaiah 28-30

cover A man has created a safety bed which he claims will provide protection against hurricanes, tornadoes, thieves, kidnappers, and terrorists. The inventor's Web site calls it "the safest rest you've ever had."

When a motion sensor detects a threat, the "Quantum Sleeper" automatically folds up around its occupant. Inside the bulletproof canopy, an alarm awakens the protected sleeper, who can spray tear gas on the intruder—or watch a movie on the DVD player while waiting out a storm. Even so, I suspect that not even an armored bed can guarantee a good night's sleep untouched by anxiety or fear.

Psalm 4:4-5 has a three-part recipe for finding peace in a troubled world: When you're angry, don't express it by disobeying God. When you lie down at night, do it in heart-searching silence. Live sacrificially, putting your trust in the Lord. An old hymn affirms this biblical instruction:

Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

David concluded his psalm, "I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety" (v.8). And that is without a doubt the safest rest we'll ever have. —David McCasland

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms?
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms. —Hoffman

He rests well who rests in Jesus.
