From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. "Wear Red" Friday

You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.

Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Dad is home but we still have to sort out the 2 medications he has been taken off. He is seeing his urologist next week and his heart specialist in at the beginning of August so we should know more then.

The urinary tract infection that he was admitted to the hospital with has cleared up

I contacted pookie18 and saw the toon he posted. I would say that I am not offended by it in the context it was created in.

That being said, however, I do think it is inappropriate for the toons section. It depicts an act you can't say on any thread and an action most people would find objectionable.

I also agree about the "ham handed" way the adminstrators acted. Kind of like fixing a hang nail with a sledge hammer. A simple removal of the picture would have sufficed. Then I could have had my morning toon fix. ;-)

Neat pictures Eleanor .. thank you. I went to the montage link & it was the same size for me. Maybe it is my inept computer (opps .. I better be careful , this is the one that is working)... Glad dad is home & the infection settled down. Hopefully he can sleep better & let the body do its own mending.

Well ladies.. you are really doing super.. Putting me to shame. The ideas are clever & framework balanced & appealing & enthusiasm wonderful. I doubt I will get any done tonight.

I have been putting out fires on home front & am really blessed that a friend has rescued me for the weekend with the use of one of his computers. His "lend out" is twice as big/powerful as mine so that is a true blessing.and the most important thing is that it interfaced well with my external hard drive so I have use of pix to edit. I wont be on line with it, so no chance of "nasties " getting in there. & the second bonus is that he will trouble shoot my Dell for me.

I have about 400 pix to yet go through & then make the power point, burn the first CD with ALL pix & power point & letter from minister (this is a VBS CD.. for all attendee families). Then make about 40 to 50 copies of the CD`.

So if I do post a "fancy schmancy Billie Table" you will know that I either needed a break big time, I am finished, or I have absolutely NO self control.. and you can bet it will be the last one!!!

My friend was deep in Akron that I borrowed the compute from & so on way back oliver & i took a hike in national park. Well, the sky did open up on us.. big time thunder/lightening/wind/heavy rain. We were about an hour into the woods so of course both were drowned rats. Oliver was already wet from swimming /playing stick in ponds. I don't really mind it, in fact I do like storms.. the electrical storms are to me gorgeous as they brighten up the sky.

Will possibly take occasional breaks & drop in.. fun to see your efforts.. and Billie, as everyone's skill improves we all thank you for your teaching, encouragement & setting the fine example with all of your great posts. It now puts the extra pressure on you as the master of many tricks to raise the bar once more.

Well said JT.. I too missed my fix as I was very late getting to thread. I normally open it up first thing when I am biking with Oliver (pooch) before sunrise. Pookie often has the thread up by 5 - 6. With my slow dial up modem it takes a long time & when I get back after half an hour or so, they are still not opened!!! But there were some issues here at home I had to address before I even went on line today. Have a good weekend.. thanks for dropping by.

yes.. I thought i responded it to it, but perhaps not ! ugh. Lots going on, is right. and many "situations" here to deal with. cant wait to see you all.. and the wait & see for the play is okay. Like I said we already have tickets/reservations. I will send you info on the hotels etc.. I know you want to take care of it. I haven't researched myself.. The only one that I know of where friends/family have stayed is Quaker Square not too far from highway & where we will be Sat. It is an old grain elevator from Quaker Oats company that has been turned into a very nice hotel, in downtown Akron.. not far from the Inventor's Hall of Fame...will try to get you some info ASAP this evening.
