I know we've had a lot of threads on this issue lately, but this is from the teachers, who have a special stake in the matter.

What do we expect from someone who can't even pronounce "nuclear" correctly?

Yet another article that wrongly claims President Bush advocates teaching Intelligent Design in science classes.
President Bush simply said contrasting ideas should be taught in schools, not that Intelligent Design should be taught in the science class. The only people who want to misinterpret what he said are liberals and creationists for their own agendas.

What's notable is that this union is the less militant of the teachers' unions. The National Education Association (NEA) is more out there than the AFT.

President Bushs misinformed comments on "intelligent design" signal a huge step backward for science education in the United States. You're damn right. The more the ignorant yahoos of religious fundamentalism are emboldened to push their mythology on the rest of us, the worse off we will all be.

Bush stepped in a pile and he needs to clean his shoes off.

"What do we expect from someone who can't even pronounce "nuclear" correctly?" You mean it isn't pronounced nuculer?

The presidents endorsement of such a discredited, nonscientific view is akin to suggesting that students be taught the "alternative theory" that the earth is flat or that the sun revolves around the earth.
Not even close.
We know for a fact that the earth is not flat and that the sun revolves around the earth.
On the other hand, we do not know with any kind of certainty whether we got from a single celled organisms to our current state via mutation and natural selection.
These are completely different levels of evidence. One is proven in the current time frame and the other is based on limited fossil records and the past and the notion that since we have similar genes with other animals we have a common ancestor(logical fallacy).
One can certainly believe the former without buying into the latter.

oops meant earth revolves around the sun.

"nuculer...it's pronounced nuculer".

Hilarious.
You'd think these bozos would be interested in teaching kids math and how to read. But, they have time for this nonsense.
I wonder how many algebra lesson plans could have been completed in the time it took to compose this self-serving press release.

I was created by G-d and in the image of G-d. At the Great White Throne judgment all atheists and evolutionists will realize they were wrong and be forthwith consigned to the lake of fire.
And apparently you think G-d made you judge and jury. Bye-bye.

What does that have to do with the Theory of Evolution?

More propaganda from the leftwing, godless teachers' union. Those dummies would know design if it bit 'em on their fat butts.
To: Skooz
I think they're also interested in teaching kids about science and the Scientific Method. Which is exactly why Intelligent Design doesn't belong in a science class, as it has nothing to do with science.
I have never seen an IDer present the testable, falsifiable hypothesis for the Theory of Intelligent Design.

No. They are interested in one thing and one thing only:
Discrediting President Bush.
Educating children is only a sideshow for the big labor John Sweeny worshipping nutjobs at the AFT.
