Author says prepare for nuclear terror

NUCLEAR WAR-FEAR Author says prepare for nuclear terror Former official: Not trying to cause panic, but prevent it

U.S. officials should get serious about nuclear terrorism by urging Americans to prepare for disaster by stockpiling food, water, building shelters and planning evacuation routes, says an author and former member of the Indiana House of Representatives.

In response to reports al-Qaida is planning an "American Hiroshima" nuclear attack on the U.S. using weapons and operative already smuggled into the country, Don Boys, author of Islam: America's Trojan Horse, says he is not trying to panic the public.

"In a few days or weeks, everyone who has not prepared for disaster will panic," he says. "I would like for you to realize that you may have already waited too long to properly prepare, and if you wait much longer, it will be too late to buy gold, guns, and groceries. ... The name of the game will be survival, only survival. Forget the job since it will be gone. Your Social Security or pension check? Don't count on it. Protection from local authorities? Probably not. You will be on your own."

Boys bases his advice on the words of U.S. officials – from President Bush to Vice President Dick Cheney to the directors of the FBI and Homeland Security – who have said nuclear terrorism is the greatest threat facing the nation and a virtual inevitability at some point.

"If U.S. officials are wrong and there is no danger from terrorists ... then breathe a sigh of relief, thank God for His mercy and continue with your life," he says. "However, if you are wrong (and U.S. officials are right), you and your family will be cold, hungry, and dependent on others to provide for your basic needs. Is it wise to take such an unnecessary risk?"

Boys suggests Americans purchase non-electric tools, guns, ammunition, food and toilet paper. He says it would be wise to set aside small bills as well as quarters.

"A few boxes of No-Rad (potassium iodide anti-radiation tablets) will be more valuable than gold if you are in a contaminated area," he says. "Get a supply today."

WND has reported that captured al-Qaida leaders and documents outline plans for a devastating terrorist nuclear attack on the U.S. – plans that have been under way for more than a decade. The reports are confirmed by author Paul Williams in his upcoming book, "The Al Qaeda Connection."

Intelligence analysts and sources disagree on the details of the way bin Laden's "American Hiroshima" plan unfolds. Some G2 Bulletin sources emphasize bin Laden's commitment to re-enacting the 1945 attack on Japan with one nuclear detonation, followed by another days later.

Williams, however, sees a much more devastating, coordinated, all-out, surprise attack coming.

"The next attack, according to al-Qaida defectors and informants, will take place simultaneously at various sites throughout the country," he writes. "Designated targets include New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Houston, Las Vegas, and Valdez, Alaska, where the tankers are filled with oil from the Trans-Alaska pipeline. To orchestrate such an incredible event requires not only the shipment of the nukes into the United States but also the establishment of cells, the training of sleeper agents, the selection of sites, and the preparation of the weapons without detection from federal, state or local law enforcement officials. Unlike 9-11, that cost less than $350,000, this event already has cost a king's ransom, and bin Laden will not waste the billions in expenditures, the years of planning and his coveted 'crown jewels' on an attack that is ill-planned, poorly timed and carelessly coordinated."

Other sources interpret some of the same information, based on captured al-Qaida operatives and documents as well as defectors, differently. They project an escalating series of attacks, each followed by blackmail demands upon the U.S. government and the American people.

" God willing, don't worry about until tomorrow. In other words, the Islma-Nazis don't have to do any detailed planning because whatever happens is Allah's will. This is a major part of their martial philosophy"

Your assumption is erroneous. In fact, the 9/11 hijackers planned their attack carefully and actually rehearsed it several times beforehand. They trained by going to flight school. The kill ratio is high because THEY DONT CARE IF THEY GET KILLED. Our martial philopshophy is to plan carefully and to not underestimate the enemy. Stupid assumptions often end up in catastrophy. Ask the Columbia Astronauts.

Agreed, but the current state of our society leads me to believe that no tenough have yet to wake up to see the reality of the threat we face.

If we (Americans) were to collectively grow up, then the chances for another successful terrorist attack of a large scale diminishes greatly...

Oh. Is that all it takes?

All the evil in history was simply luck.

With the proliferation of nuclear weapons throughout the world today the Terrorists do not have to have the technical or scientific knowledge to build one of these things or maintain it. What they need to do is hire someone who can. With the collapse of the old Soviet Union this put alot of their scientists out of work.

This opened up those people with the necessary skills to alot of opportunities for those who had the money who wished us harm.

I don't know for a fact if there are nukes in this country or not. I do know that too many people in a position to know, both here and in Russia, claim that the Soviet spetsnaz (sp), buried a number of suitcase nukes in this country to be used in the event of a Nuclear exchange.

People have said that the triggers on these things wear out quickly. If that is true then I'm sure anyone who paid for this information, would also pay to have new triggers made. Triggers would be far easier to smuggle in than a nuke anyway.

The Government, allegedly, finds this information to be credible enough, that they are now excavating several supposed burial sites of these weapons.

I hope and pray to God that this is all some kind of nightmarish cinderella story.

But personally I would much rather be prepared than to be sorry later on.

They were also thought "incompetent" before flying planes they could never learn to fly, somehow taking out three buildings and 3000 people, including four commercial jets full of people. The coordination and planning of the events were amazingly effective. All the fanatics need is one or more of the Russian's "lost" suitcase bombs, some OBL cash, a coyote-lead free entrance across the Southern border and LA or Phoenix could disappear.

I agree with you entirely on being hypervigilant. But I in no way, am going to underestimate anyone who would have the cajones to try and hijack 4 planes and fly them into buildings.

Cowards people call them for attacking civilian targets, but this kind of operation took boldness and guts regardless of how you look at it.

"There are many people who think the United states will never have a major calaminty because..well.. we are the United States."

I know and that breeds apathy which is far more dangerous than arrogance.

I must have missed that one. What degree of confidence did they have? Can you post an excerpt?

Nukes require a lot of very high tech maintenance, tritium gas must the replenish every so often depending on the size/design of the weapon. Any nukes left over from the old USSR and not maintained are not longer operable. Terrorist would need the assistance of a nation state to pull off a nuke attack on the usa, I don't think any nation state would be foolish enough to get involved. There is also the problem of delivery, nukes give off radiation which can be detected, if shielded weight increases greatly and can also be detected. So chances are delivery would have to be fast to avoid capture. Only a missile would guarantee delivery and once again you'd need a nation state. While possible I suppose odds are overwhelming against it.

I came out of retirement to push nuclear power plants through the process.

Most would have gone out had the work not been done well ahead of time.

People never realized how close we came to disaster.

Terrorist attacks on NYC buildings using airliners was discussed at length on this board in 97-98.

There was the usual division between the nothing can happen if we don't think sos, and the open your eyes and be prepared crowd.

"I don't think he's saying it can't happen at all; he's saying that these people don't have the know-how to conceal and maintain a weapon like this. Your scenario is the most likely scenario - get it, use it, over and out. Farrah and Williams believe these things are hidden in some dark alley in a city near you, ready to blow"

Perhaps that's what he means, however, such a plan makes no sense. The enemy spends BIG bucks on a nuke or spends many years developing them. Then they plant them where they may be discovered, while waiting for what?
It think some people watch too much 24.

We should also make it abundantly clear to the local muslims, that should an attack occur in the US, we promise to level their mosque and everyone in it.......no exceptions.

"What a beautiful family you have, Jenny, and what a wonderful thing you are doing preparing in the event of the "unthinkable" so that, just in case, you and your children will be prepared. Is that not the same reason people have wills and life insurance?."

Thanks, it has been a boatload of work these past years, learning how to be self sufficient in as many areas of family life as I could learn.

I admit that we did take it to extremes. When I decided to take on my own prenatal care and give birth at home with just my husband present, many many people thought I had lost it.

But I feel so comforted!!! We hope to have more children, and the confidence I feel that should we have a long term disruption in services because of any sort of natural or man made disaster, if I am expecting a baby, I KNOW I can do it!!! Alone.

Think about it....no prenatal medical care, no doctors, no drugs, no epidurals, no electronic fetal monitors, no nurses, no antibiotics, no baby formula, no plastic diapers, no vaccinations, no dentists. I have been thinking about these realities for a long long time.

Has our family taken things to extreme? I suppose time will tell, but I feel confident that should anything happen we will be able to live just fine.

Jenny

It took them eight years to execute an operation that would have taken a fireteam of Marine privates to do in a week. The kill ratio was high because they were allowed to kill innocent civilians that placidly wnent ot their own deaths. Contrast the flights to the towers with flt 93. Commandeering a plane load of compliant civilians is infinitely easier than smuggling nuclear weapons into a wary nation.

I don't think the tangos have the sophistication to get nukes in and detonate them.

The twin towers operation, contrary to the breathless commentary of the liberal media was not a sophisticated operation and neither were the bombings in London. The terr's just do not have the martial aptitude of Western Military operatives that would be required to even contemplate a nuclear operation.

"It's commendable to be prepared, but something tells me if a nuclear bomb goes off in your city, the martial law will be established immediately to quell the riots and pillaging that would ensue."

The likely scenario is that the terrorists will hit less than twenty cities. That leaves MOST of America in a situation where we will need to have some protection from radiation. Depending on the way the wind blows, most people would be able to make it home to a shelter and most people would survive.

The three month thing is just my own gut feeling on how long a disruption could last. We have a year's supply of food because it is part of my religion.

If it goes longer, we will adjust to the new lifestyle - regressing back 200 years in terms of infrastructure.

But I think because of the superb preparations by the department of homeland security - we could easily be hit and then have America back up and running in a week. But our family is prepared that it might take longer than that.

The number one reason why people may have to leave their homes is in search of purified water. If everyone in America would have a two week supply of clean water and food, that would negate the need to leave home in search of it and would also protect them from fallout.

Jenny
