Two Illegal Immigrants Win Arizona Ranch in Court Fight
The New York Times ^ | 08/19/05 | Andrew Pollack

Posted on 08/19/2005 9:25:31 AM PDT by RoyalsFan

By ANDREW POLLACK Published: August 19, 2005 DOUGLAS, Ariz., Aug. 18 - Spent shells litter the ground at what is left of the firing range, and camouflage outfits still hang in a storeroom. Just a few months ago, this ranch was known as Camp Thunderbird, the headquarters of a paramilitary group that promised to use force to keep illegal immigrants from sneaking across the border with Mexico.

Now, in a turnabout, the 70-acre property about two miles from the border is being given to two immigrants whom the group caught trying to enter the United States illegally.

The land transfer is being made to satisfy judgments in a lawsuit in which the immigrants had said that Casey Nethercott, the owner of the ranch and a former leader of the vigilante group Ranch Rescue, had harmed them.

"Certainly it's poetic justice that these undocumented workers own this land," said Morris S. Dees Jr., co-founder and chief trial counsel of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., which represented the immigrants in their lawsuit.

Mr. Dees said the loss of the ranch would "send a pretty important message to those who come to the border to use violence."

The Quislings and other false flag freepers will never quit, because they don't actually believe their own lies.

Who are to you referring to, Travis?

Most federal informants working the internet play VERY coy in public.

That may be true. They retired to San Migel de Allende, which I believe is inland (American Expats are coming close to outnumbering Mexicans in that little city, I'm told).

This is the future of the American Southwest.

The worst part, is that there are so many Quislings, who will give them both the flags and the matches.

No it isn't. Has anyone ever informed you that this is a Federal government problem. They are sworn to protect our borders. They get paid for this, and it's their responsibility to do their job.

You're still not addressing the root of the problem, which is that the Americans who hire them are basically offering these folks money to come north. By Mexican standards, even the pittance Americans pay them is far more than they could make back home. Of course those folks will come north.

Until you figure out how to handle the American piece of the puzzle, nothing else is going to get fixed.

I do not engage in honest debate with those who fly under a false flag. What's the point?

By that logic, if someone breaks my bathroom window, crawls in and slips in the tub, he can sue me and take my house?!

Yeah, liberals, you're right...obviously we don't need any judicial reform. Go back to sleep, everything is just fine.

That type of talk reflects badly on everyone on FR. There may be a young lawyer FReeper who some day gets nominated to a federal judgeship and is not confirmed because he was registered on FR. Your post could be Exhibit "A".

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Great reason to accept incompetence, injustice, selective enforment of laws and anger building to beyond tolerance.

A Freeper being nominated to the Supreme Court in not even on my intergalactic radar.
Illegal comes in? Deport him the first time.
He comes back? Shoot to kill.

All that's missing is enabling legislation, following the overdue law that our Constitution, rights and protection apply to citizens and legal residents only. It does not apply to alien criminals, tourist criminals and terrorists masquerading as religious teachers. Please note that no Freeper ever said a nasty word about legal immigration.

We will see a bloody civil war fought for the American Southwest in our lifetimes

I Agree. Locked. Loaded. Supplied. Outfitted.

One must be prepared if living in a border State.

Those who pretend to be loyal Americans, with the covert intention of destroying American sovereignty.

If they're making so much here from such well-paying hard work, then how come the county hospitals are scrounging for money to deliver their children and deliver their healthcare?

It's extremely well-paying work by Mexican standards. But of course, American medical costs are high even by American standards -- I doub't you'd do much better than they, if you were without insurance.

The cost of government services to illegals is, indeed, a serious issue. But that's not the fault of the illegals who use the services, but rather the Americans (in state and local government) who make money available for that purpose.

Whatever the social services costs, the fact remains that most of the Mexicans who come here illegally, do in fact work their asses off. I've observed it in many places, as I'm sure you have, too. They wouldn't do that, if their only reason for coming here was to hang around and be invaders.

This is not a "Mexican" problem, it's an American one.

NO, it's a Federal Government problem. Has anyone ever informed you that this is a Federal government problem. They are sworn to protect our borders. They get paid for this, and it's their responsibility to do their job. Period. End of story.

Unless you think it's not the Feds sworn responsibility to protect and secure our borders.

I wrote

I guess we know where you stand, then, when it comes to debating people directly.

Then you wrote:

I do not engage in honest debate with those who fly under a false flag. What's the point?

Then I wrote:

And who would that be, Travis?

And you replied:

Those who pretend to be loyal Americans, with the covert intention of destroying American sovereignty.

You make bold claims Travis, but you are unwilling to come out and say exactly what you mean.

So, tell me, do you consider me one of those people who "pretend to be loyal Americans, with the covert intention of destroying American sovereignty?" I'm looking for an honest answer, and I will not complain to the mods if that is your opinion of me.

It's right here, in black and white.

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

You still haven't addressed my post...

Welfare comes from government. Free medical care, mandated by government. Free education... mandated by government.

Cheap day labor is small potatos.

When the boat is sinking, don't you want the hole plugged BEFORE you start bailing water?

Are you going to dodge the question again?
