The immigrants illegals also said the group gave them cookies, water and a blanket and let them go after an hour or so.

No good deed goes unpunished.

Meanwhile, O.J. Simpson has never paid the judgment found against him in civil court.

I've been trying to pick a poster to respond to with my shared outrage.

Then I saw your name.

1. We need the judge's name and info.

2. We need to find out what it will take to get an appeal going.

They are here by breaking a law, if they get harmed it is because they were committing a crime and in it's commission were harmed. The only legal standing they have is to be prosecuted for being here illegally and any illegals with them are to be prosecuted for causing harm to which ever illegal was injured.

So, by that logic, you can simply go to Los Angeles and shoot illegal immigrants, since they have no legal standing and are committing a crime by being on US soil. Is that what you're saying?

"Certainly it's poetic justice that these undocumented workers own this land"

I was thinking more like bitter irony myself.

They don't even have to get themselves "roughed up". Apparently they can just accuse someone of roughing them up and still win a case on a "he said, she said" basis. Unbelievable!

That's the part that gets me, the conviction is apparently based on an accusation. Why would you assault someone, then give them cookies and water?

But, I admit, at first sight I thought this story was a hoax. Then, I saw ... Southern Poverty Law Center. That makes it more believable.

I believe that would be your logic. No one was shot. They were detained.

If you are asking "So, by that logic, you can simply go to Los Angeles and DETAIN illegal immigrants, since they have no legal standing and are committing a crime by being on US soil."

The answer would be yes.

All, or almost all, states have laws that state that if injury is caused, including death, during th commission of a crime the perpetrators are guilty of the bodily injury up to and including murder.

First off, you need to read the full article. It describes the situation in some detail.

Next, the "perpetrators," as you call them, had been captured and were being held. At that point, Mr. Nethercott should simply have called INS, and been done with it. At that point, there was no more crime being committed, but rather a group of citizens having done their civic duty. Nice job, fellas.

But apparently Mr. Nethercott wasn't content to stop there. Instead, he decided to pistol whip one of the guys -- which is assault, not "self defense" as you're trying to paint it. Even illegal immigrants have legal protection from assault, even if it's committed by an American citizen.

And then to top it all off, Nethercott and his pals didn't call the INS, but instead let the two fellows go!!!! Doesn't that make them accessories to a crime?

As usual, there's more to the story, and this time it's right in the linked article.

Three S's prevents such suit's!

There is no such thing as an "Illegal Immigrant", thy are an active invasion force, and should be treated as enemy combatants.
And no, no SARC tag needed, as I am serious.

It's time to protect the border and our national identity by every means necessary.

If you're really serious, then you should ask yourself why Americans (by hiring these people) are paying the illegal immigrants to cross the borders. Because that's why they're coming.

As far as illegal immigration is concerned, it's one place where Blame America First happens to have a great deal of merit.

if true the judge should be not taken off the bench, but thrown, literally.

Read #93. They weren't detained, they were pistol-whipped, then released.
