Kevin McCarron, a leader of Veterans For Peace, is the second protester seen in the CNSNews produced video report on the Code PINK sponsored anti-war protest held Friday evenings at Walter Reed.
In Issue 227 of SOCIALIST REVIEW Published February 1999 in an article titled "Oil on troubled waters, Mister McCarron calls Desert Storm troops "baby killers: The December bombing of Iraq, moreover, has sparked a protest movement against both the bombing and the sanctions. By the hundreds and thousands, demonstrators protested against the bombing in cities across the US. Town meetings organised by socialists and other anti-war activists drew a wider layer who wanted to become active. In Washington DC, Gulf War veteran Kevin McCarron spoke from the floor: 'In basic training, they tell you not to steal rape or kill innocent people, especially women and children. All that was ignored in Iraq.'
It is like Vietnam again...for the left. They are getting their kicks calling the troops "baby killer" again.
Cindy Sheehan rode to Crawford on the Veterans For Peace bus. She plans to tour on that bus.
How long before Veterans For Peace call Casey a "baby killer"?
Lock 'em up for treason.
How long before John Kerry is us there making speeches about the US burning villages, beheading people, killing people indiscriminately, using people for target practice, etc.
The left has gone completely insane. They are getting dangerous.
I was mobilized for Operation Desert Storm. I don't remember killing one single baby in the two years I was deployed...I'm pretty sure I would've remembered that, as it would've upset me greatly, as I love babies. :)
I mentioned this in an earlier posting today, but I've known Kevin McCarron for about six years. It's interesting a man like that could rise to prominence in the far left. Some of you may meet him at a protest. Here are my observations about him:
1. He is a passionate advocate of all issues on the far left, not just the current war. He said in one presentation that he considers property rights to be a bad thing. He constantly lambasts corporations. He tends to have an anger toward institutions in general.
2. He is very proud of his military record and if pressed on a point, will demand to know when and where other served in the military. If they haven't served, he will berate them for that and make that point central to the discussion. Sometimes, people point out they are also veterans, and then he tends to say nothing. In short, it's strictly an argumentative point with him.
3. He is a very angry man. I've heard the guards in his building say bad things about him because of his general rudeness toward them. He has screamed at invited guest speakers if they didn't share his radical views, thereby embarrassing even those who are sympathetic to his point of view.
4. Despite that, he has shown no signs of being prone to physical violence.
5. If you get in a verbal argument with him, he will go only so long, and then will back down. He will then hate you forever. It's always personal with him. After we had a conflict at a discussion group many years ago, he has since refused to even say hello to me.
In short, he is a man who has a deep anger at the world and at institutions in general. He filters the world through that anger. His anger tends to distort his description of reality I therefore would not trust his version of events in Iraq or anywhere else.
He sounds like a nasty piece of work. I suppose we should be thankful that so many of those on the Left are like that: it makes refuting and defeating them that much easier.
But.....but........but.....one of the Pinkies was just on H&C and said that this is just not true -- that they're only there supporting the troops and demanding better benefits for them.
Aka. if you agree with me but didn't serve you are spot-on about ANYTHING military ( Dean, Clinton, Sharpton, Jackson yada yada yada) then everything is aok but if you haven't served AND disagree with me then you have no valid opinion especially if buttressed by facts such as Dem statements during the Clinton administration, military action resolutions supported by a majority of elected Dems etc.
Hey Code Pink libs: Show me one sign that mentions veteran's benefits. Yeah, didn't think so. (And if there is one or more, is it a majority? Didn't think so.)
All that being said, it doesn't justify his lying about our troops in Desert Storm.
You're absolutely right, as usual. [NOTE: I make it a point to show due respect to freeper greats such as Dr. Raoul!]
I was just explaining why I thought Mccarron was untrustworthy and his stories from Iraq shouldn't be believed.

Kevin McCarron is the modern day John Kerry and Cindy Sheehan is the modern day Jane Fonda. "Baghdad Kevin" and "Baghdad Cindy" they shall henceforth be known as.
How come we didn't hear the anti-war protestors during the Desert Fox?
