Jim Gilchrist Stance On Iraq War?
(Enter Link Here) Congress: J. Scott Davis vs. Jim Gilchrist ^ | 26 AUGUST 2005 | J. Scott Davis

Posted on 08/26/2005 4:21:59 PM PDT by jscottdavis_for_48th_district

"Minuteman" Jim Gilchrist is my prospective opponent for California's 48th District U.S. House Rep. special election. Does anyone know what his stance is on the Iraq War? I for one firmly support the President and our operations in Iraq. What is Gilchrist's position on the war?

Thank you, J. Scott Davis

Well, jscott, on this we disagree, and fundamentally.

Once the fetus is formed...it is human. It can be nothing more.

On that particular choice, the woman had the right to choose before life was formed. Once life is formed, it can no longer be her (Or anyone else's) legal or moral choice to kill it, irrespective of what an activist Supreme Court has says. No more than an activist King could tell the founders of this nation that it was legal to house his troops in their homes.

Except this particular ill is orders of magnitudes worse. It has created a holocaust in this nation of tens of millions...destroying the very well spring of our society. To simply say a woman has more to deal with than a man, therefore it is okay to kill the life growing within her...I am sorry, but that stance is not something I can evr agree with or accept.

In fact, IMHO, one of the smaller fall outs of this ill is that it contributes to the illegal immigration issue because we have effectively killed off a good precentage of an entire generation of young people who would be here to work...if we raised them to work. And, as I say, given the overall moral issue and the furthering of and support of the culture of death this despicable ill has brought upon us, that is but one of the smaller ills it produces.

Anyhow, in my estimation, to think otherwise regarding life in the womb...to risk otherwise is to negate the very most fundamental principle this Republic was founded upon...the right to life.

That unalienable right trumps all others and is not something we can equivocate on, trifle with, or dare err on.

Jeff; The fetus is not human enough right from the start. While I wish to avoid someone having an abortion, it's still a woman's right to chose. I believe that if I woman is raped, she has the right to an abortion. Having the child could really effect her mentally. Have you considered that?

jscott, listen to yourself. In response to the idea that we cannot afford to err on human life, the most basic of all unalienable rights, endowed upon us by God, you respond with...

The fetus is not human enough...the woman has more things to worry about?

What is more important than the life of her child? Her convience? (because in 95+% of the cases that is exactly what is at stake for the woman). This idea that is is not "human enough" sounds like something for all the world right out of Nazi Germany. When is a human, human enough?

I am not trying to be rude or trying to accuse you of anything, so forgive the emotional reference to Nazi Germnany...but THINK! You talk about Gilchrist flip-flopping (which I do not believe he has actually done...he opposed and then got on board with the mission and its completion after the commitment was made...to me that is different than "flip-flopping" around for political purposes. Did you agree with EVERY order you were given in the military? Did you follow those you did not agree with and "get on board" anyway? That's more like what Gilchrist has done here).

Anyhow, this idea that a human fetus is "not human enough", is a talking point right out of the liberal and planned parenthood playbook itself. This is the liberal mantra itself. Not human enough indeed!

In addition, regarding rape...my own feeling is this. Why sentence the child to a death sentence for the crime of the rapist? I can understrand entirely a womam not wanting to raise a child from such an incident, but there are millions of families who would adopt a child and raise it to be a good citizen, never knowing of that trauma.

America was founded on the ideal of life...and that we can sacrifice and aspire to achieve something more and better for our children and children's children through our God given and morally constrained liberty. When we remove the most fundamental moral constraint, the right to life of the wellspring of our humanity...the foundation of the whole is uncercut and eventually the building will fall.

And still waiting for an answer from last night (unless I missed it and therefore I would apologize) as to any announced or potential political candidates on this thread, as to which of the THREE MAIN IMMIGRATION CONTROL PLANS before the US Congress (which candidates seek to become a member of), they are in support of.

I would think the murder of her own child would really effect her.

I am strictly opposed to gays in the military! This is an example of the sins of liberalism. One of Bill Clinton's first and worst moves that he made when he took office was to lift the ban on gays.

Military service can really result in hell. We don't need a gay superior bearing down on us at the same time.

A rape victim receiving an abortion early in the pregnancy is scientifically not considered murder. The fetus has not developed. Why don't you let the women decide this issue?

Children are in school to be educated. They are to be taught morals and patriotism. Yes, they should recite
the Pledge of Allegiance ( including "with one nation under God").

"Pat Buchanan. Would you like me to name some more? "

I suspected as much. Buchanan is not a conservative, he's a crazed Bush-hater who has aligned himself with everything from socialists to racists in order to pursue his vendetta against President Bush.

He's now calling for the impeachment of President Bush. That's as good as you can do?

Buchanan got less than 1/2 of 1% of the vote. George Bush won. (Look the word up in the dictionary if you don't know what "won" means) Get over it.

Still waiting a response to post 139, bayourod. While you're at it, why don't you let the rest of us know what your personal connection and interest is to "immigration reform"?

Read it closer. It calls for a reduction in immigration. That is an anti-immigration position.

Cilchrist isn't going to be able to hide from the AIP and its racist history. He knew what he was doing when he filed as their candidate. No one forced him to do it.

Now the reputation of AIP is on the line. If you can't win this Congressional race you can't win any. You can fight to win or you can pretend that you want to lose on principle, but you can not hide from the fact that this race will define the AIP.

I would be happy to answer your questions, but you need to reply with just 2 or 3 at a time. Allow others time to ask me questions as well.

First, I support a move to first strenghthen the effectiveness of immigration officials and provide them support. I support a beefed up Border Patrol providing them support while requiring their effectiveness. In addition, our legal system needs to increase it's effectiveness in deporting illegal immigrants. The whole system needs to "want to do it." In other words, illegal immigration is not being enforced.

Opening up trade with Mexico will energize their economy thus fewer fathers will be sneaking into the U.S. to feed their families.

Foremost, the fight on terrorism is our main priority.
