And not just local. Can you imagine a John Kerry presiding over a country as much at risk as New Orleans now is?
BTW, Haley Barbour has done a terrific job in MS. Some thought he wasn't presidential material at one time, but in my book, he is.

Blanco in particular looks to be in way over her head.
And its not a partisan issue: I live in Las Vegas who has a (very good) dem mayor, Oscar Goodman. I'd take good old Oscar G over a lot of republican leaders in a crisis like this.

This is what happens when you are elected to a position that your not qualified for.... 20/20 hindsight is so wonderful. I searched through your posts and you mostly recommended prayer. These Dims may not be the brightest lights in the firmament, but I'm not sure that pointing that out at this time serves any useful purpose.
