But, for a rare spot of good news, the head of the EPA is going to permit sale of any regional blend of gas anywhere - until the 15'th of September. I though that was mighty whitey of the guy.

Oregon, WI. Price lept by 20-cents overnight. I paid $2.85 today for half a tank, just to get it before it went up again.

There were two other people getting gas at the same time. No panic in our area.

Some places in Madison, WI are already charging $3.25/gallon. They're hosing people, plain and simple.

Well, I hope Gov. Perdue spells 'abberation' as 'gouging' and busts his ass up and down Peachtree Street first thing tomorrow on his way to court.

With his competitors underselling him by about 2 bucks a gallon, I'm willing to let the free market work its magic.

Went from $2.69 - $2.99 yesterday and up to $3.29 and even $3.49 today in Milwaukee.

I stopped in a station that said $3.05, but it was closed with a sign saying they were out of gas.

Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC supplies very low - some stations don't have any and aren't expecting any soon. Prices over $3 a gallon. Some stations with lines.

Same thing in Memphis. Hear talk/rumors of rationing. Nothing on the news about that yet. When I filled up there was only premium left. They were out of the two lower grades.

I also wanted to add that they'll be hosing everyone to the extent that they can get away with it as it is the Labor Day Weekend.

I see people cutting back on S'mores around the campfire, more than I see them cutting back on gasoline. Do you realize that if you liquified Hershey Bars, that a gallon of chocolate would be 10X the price of a gallon of gas these days?

Priorities, People! Priorities! ;)

2.99 in suburban Philly.

$20 gave me a couple of weeks gas in my tank.
Hopefully things will settle down by then!

I'm in Florida, my mom told me she heard Jeb say that the state had 5 days supply.

I wouldn't mind rationing, but rationing in this way.

You could only buy 10 gallons at a time.

If a person wanted to hit three gas stations to fill up their tank, sobeit, let them go to the trouble.

But the average person is going to get their 10 gallons and not come back till they need another 10.

IMHO, this won't necessarily conserve gas, but it would even out the supply and demand issues if the rate that fuel flows into each state is slowed.

I paid $2.98 for regular today just before the owner changed the prices. Most everyplace else here (Milwaukee) is already $3.29. Wish I'd filled up 2 days ago.

Filled the tanks on our cars Sunday for $2.41/gallon; unleaded now up to $3.13/gallon in WRJ, in the People's Republic of Vermont. Since it is about a mile or so to work; that should last us a while :-)
