Mary Landrieu: I'll Punch Bush, 'Literally'

Sen. Mary Landrieu threatened the president of the United States with physical violence on Sunday, saying that if he or any other government official criticizes New Orleans police for failing to keep civil order in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina - "I might likely have to punch him - literally."

"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."

It is illegal to threaten the president with physical violence.

The Louisiana Democrat blasted Bush for neglecting the New Orleans levees, and demanded that he stop using the disaster for "photo-ops."

"The president came here yesterday for a photo-op," Landrieu charged, while surveying the disaster scene via helicopter with "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos in tow. "He got his photo-op but we are never going to get this fixed if he does not send us help now."

Landrieu also blamed Bush for cutting funding for levee improvement, before bursting into tears on camera.

In recent days, Louisiana officials have been criticized for bungling evacuation and rescue efforts. One of those officials, Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu, is Sen. Landrieu's brother.

I just sent her a message from her website -

Dear Ms. Landrieu,

In the midst of the pain and suffering that citizens of our state are enduring, I was shocked and disappointed to see our senior Senator threaten the President of our country with physical violence. There is no excuse for it and I think you owe the President a public apology.

but somebody in the republican party should be out with republican counter talking points.

Whose minds are they going to change? The people that will do the best job at counter talking points are the conservative talk show hosts but liberals don't listen to them. As a conservative I certainly don't go to the MSM for my news or commentary.

When did a liberal let the truth get in the way of a sound bite?

LA evidently has what it asked for in it's elected officials. They are weak, lacking in intelligence, and totally clueless---but, Hey! They know how to shill for the Dem party. But LA voted them in, and now they are stuck with them.

Why aren't these politicians helping at shelters?

What? And have royalty mix with commoners? Surely you jest!

Seriously, if any of them--Nagin especially--entered a shelter, the people might tear them apart. And deservedly so.

And in this corner the whining corrupt liberal from Louisiana.

And the other corner, the good guy, trim and fit ready to rumble, the President of the United States, George W Bush.

Thunderous applause......

If I ever run into her, I'll tell her. Why not? I've been thinking it. I've been posting it. I've been saying it. I'd have no problem whatsoever saying it to her face, or Ray Nagin's, or Eddie Compass', or whoever down there. The thing is, if Mary takes a swing at me, I could almost certainly make it a very short fight.

Bush should issue a press release: "We're not going to arrest her, we know she didn't mean it. We understand she's just being hysterical."

Just one question, where is Bobby Jindal? Why don't you see him on TV as much as the raving moonbat Landrieu?

Wrong. What a waste of the President's time in the middle of a catastrophe (wherein he is bailing out NO officials from their lack of "planning") to even address Landreau's comments.

No. He doesn't need to address this. She's toast. And, she's done it to herself.

Wish Rove and Karen Hughes could come up with one of their brilliant ideas for the media, so far its just been photo ops that dont seem to be working to stop this media bashing.

I could almost certainly make it a very short fight.

I appreciate the sentiments. But be careful with Cajun women. They are quite dangerous. I've seen some scary catfights in my life. Saw one tiny Cajun woman take out a very large man with a beer mug once at Laniappe on the Bayou.

It just occurred to me. At some point there will be a massive funeral service for victims.

Will it be a Wellstone Memorial Service. Oh my Lord, I don't think I can take it!
