EVERY politician in Louisiana should announce that they will not run for re-election, Their desperate attempt to shift blame to FEMA is sickening.

I agree.

I've said this from Day 1. I suspected the Dems would stoop to new lows in an effort to blame Bush for all of this.

I'm sure Bush desperately wants to avoid political bickering at this point. He's only interested in the rescue and rebuilding of the area.

OTOH, the Dems (elected officials and MSM) only want to take a piece out of hide for this.

I hate to suggest that Bush stoop to the Dem's level - but he has got to set the record straight - NOW!

Louisiana operates under Napoleanic law. The french have left their stamp on this state and it's fair to say their stamp is a stamp of defeat. The leadership in Louisiana SURRENDERED. they simply gave up.

It says something when the lower level political jurisdictions hold the state in such disdain that they would not allow the state to collect sales tax on their behalf. In Texas you pay the state comptroller who in turn pays the local jurisdictions based on what's reported. In Louisiana you pay each local jurisdiction directly.

These people don't trust each other and fell flat on their face when the chips were down. You ought to be ashamed Louisiana. At least Haley Barbour can get on TV and convey a thought without crying like a baby. WTF is wrong with Louisiana? French tradition?

She reminds me of the Liberal mouthpiece Carolyn Parrish, maybe the two of them could start somekind of lesbian relationship or something.

"If one person criticizes [our sheriffs], or says one more thing, including the president of the United States, he will hear from me - one more word about it after this show airs and I - I might likely have to punch him - literally," Landrieu railed on "ABC's "This Week."

It may sound callous, but she could finally lose in 2008 because she may have lost permanently some 30,000 loyal supporters in Orleans Parish. Of course, it would take a serious opponent to defeat her. As Lincoln said, "You can't beat somebody with nobody."

I believe it was noted that in 2002 Senator Landrieu polled some 20 percent better among white males than do most liberal Democrats in LA!

Where is the Secret Service on this one. A US senator(a shitty one at that) advocating violence against the President. Funny how liberals always want to inflict violence on republicans, but when we depose a murderous dictator, it is against the law.

Remember, New Orleans is the home of the Landrieus. Thier hometown has literally been washed away under their feet. They are too upset to think rationally. People in LA believe in them, elected one in 2002 and another in 2003. They are probably thinking that they have forever lost 50,000 or more of their most loyal backers, people either dead or who will not return to New Orleans but stay where they have been evacuated.

I don't much care who Mary Landrieu thinks she is, or how she got elected, or how much stress she "feels" right now.
She wants to trash talk about slapping a sitting POTUS, she crossed the line, and deserves serious censure.
Any man or woman serving in the DOD would have a serious career problem right now for voicing that quote.
Since I am no longer in uniform, and not serving under any sworn oath of public office...

Hey Mary, come get some!

You want to get physical on someone? Bring it over here, Mary, because I say a whole bunch of contemptible, evil and criminally negligent elected officials in Louisiana just killed a whole bunch of innocent people because they, and you, are evil corrupt and stupid.

A national leader, senator, crying on TV, will reinforce the perception that a female isn't up to the top spot..running the country...>>>>>>>>

If you do a little private polling of women you know you might be surprised to know how many of them already are convinced that no woman can handle the job. I have asked this of a number of women as a serious question and nearly everyone has said that she would never vote for a woman for President. I am convinced that if the women of this country wanted a woman in the White House we woulld have had one already. After all, they are the majority of registered voters!

If she doesn't get arrested for that threat, why should anybody else? And does she really think she can intimidate further discussion of the many failures in that city and state?

The Landrieu family members are surprisingly well placed in the unfolding of the entire history leading up to this event:

Mitch Landrieu is the Lt Governor and brother to Mary Landrieu the Senator. Perhaps the more significant family member is their aunt Phyllis Landrieu the defacto leader of the Orleans Parish School Board.

It was Phyllis Landrieu who stonewalled the discussion about using the school buses for evacuation, and it was Phyllis Landrieu that threatened to sue School Board President Sanders for refusing to sign the work order that hired Alvarez and Marsal to run the schools. (Coincidentally, it was Aunt Phyllis Landrieu who nominated Sanders to be President, undoubtedly expecting him to follow her bidding.)

It is rather odd that Auntie Phyllis lowered herself to serve on a city school board, when she could have served in a much more challenging position. Actually, she is a Washington, DC lobbyist.

First off your "BRAVE" Sherriffs are too busy busting down old ladies doors and grabbing self sufficient citezin's weapons and shooting dogs to worry about looters. A N.O. cop told a woman when she asked him what to do, "F___ YOU, ITS EVERY MAN FOR HIMSELF". I dont know whats worse the vile filth you spew or the N.O. Water. Up yours Senator!!!
