Troops find grisly scenes in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Troops scouring New Orleans for survivors and victims reported finding at least 40 mutilated bodies in the Convention Center refugee center.
Arkansas National Guardsman Mikel Brooks told the New Orleans Times Picayune many of the dead were elderly, or showed signs of trauma.
"There's another one in the freezer, a 7-year-old with her throat cut," he said.
As the searches became more organized since the Aug. 29 onslaught of Hurricane Katrina, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said repair crews had patched the ruptured levee along the 17th Street Canal and had begun pumping out water.
The failure of the levee system after the storm left about 80 percent of the city flooded up to 20 feet deep, and Corps officials said it would take nearly three months to drain some neighborhoods, CNN reported.
Deputy Police Chief Warren Riley told reporters that thousands of people -- many of them with pets -- are insisting on staying in what he called "a hazard."
"We advise people that this city has been destroyed. It has been completely destroyed," Riley said.

By the way, UPI is no longer a trustworthy news wire. They pick up rumor from everywhere. They're the ones who ran the bogus story a few months ago about a supposedly Muslim marine claiming in a Saudi Arabian newspaper that the Saddam capture story was a hoax.
I'm taking this with a grain of salt. I would also assume bodies that have been sitting around for days in these conditions might appear rather "mutilated".
It's also been called "the most European city in the United States"!
Mantras are for liberals and others who have to repeat something over and over in order for people to believe lies. The facts are all we need to put out - consistently and without rancor - and the liberal mantras will seem more and more shrill and empty.
I agree, it will be shocking. I really believe someone is going to have to go to jail for this.
So the murders from the convention center and superdome have now been deciminated throughout the country. Great, ruthless, depraved murders, allowed to do their worst in New Orleans have now most probably been sent out to other unsuspecting areas of the nation.

I would rather focus on the individuals and culture which resulted in these mutilations. There was a report on a group of Vietnamese immigrants who were a "sea of tranquility" among the chaos at the Convention Center. They also refused to accept help from the rescuers before others were taken care of.
And the relatives of this child, they are where? Something not right about this story.
I have a few questions:
1. Is it true that the city let out the prisoners just before the storm hit? If so why not just move them instead. What did they think they would do once they were set free?
2. If the rapes and killings are true from within the shelters- Did the "animals" get bused out with everyone else?
3. How many were arrested and where did they put them?
4. How did the police run out of ammo, and with 40% missing wouldn't there be even more ammo to get their hands on?

Wasn't all of this supposedly rumors, which were false? I guess the rumors turned out to be true; sadly.
