Those Angry Liberals (Letter to the Editor)

Those Angry Liberals Tuesday, September 13, 2005

Editor:

There have been far too many angry people on television, people who are angry about Hurricane Katrina, and who have very definite ideas about who is responsible for the pain and suffering. Unfortunately, they really aren’t doing anything constructive. We’ve got to divide up responsibilities in order to get some things done! Here are my suggestions.

Jesse Jackson: Start raising money. No, I mean for others. Do it for The Red Cross, The Salvation Army, or some other organization that would get the money to the people that need it. You can get back to race baiting and making African Americans think that they need you and Democratic Party after we fix things up. Here is a tip: It is generally not a good idea to insult and anger people while they are reaching for their wallets!

You could also attend to people’s spiritual needs, provided of course, that you are still a minister. It seems that as the Democratic Party becomes more and more secular and anti-Christian, you and Al Sharpton spend less and less time talking about God and more and more time speaking of politics.

Nancy Pelosi: Start showing some degree of balance, politically. Show that you have some patriotism.

Howard Dean: Start showing some degree of balance, emotionally. Show that you have some sanity.

Al Sharpton: Use your experience. Use your outrage. Take the lead in digging into who was raping the poor young girls in the Superdome. You can interview the people who stood by and watched while it happened. You could be kind of like a Prosecuting Attorney, because, well, you really don’t have any other job.

Bill Maher: New Rules. Go off the air. Suggest someone to take your place that is funny and stands for something. You once said that cowardice was firing a Tomahawk cruise missile from three-hundred miles out. Show your bravery. Don’t be a greasy, sniveling weasel. Join the Coast Guard. Join a police force. Be a fireman. Contribute. Get off the stage.

Mayor Ray Nagin: You are right: people died needlessly. Investigations are in order. Why did it take so long for the evacuation order? I have heard that the poor could not leave because they didn’t have the transportation. Why did hundreds of buses sit idle, only to be taken by the flood? If the rich left in their cars and the poor didn’t have cars, who owns the hundreds of cars lining the streets of New Orleans as the flood waters recede? By the way, where have you been? We haven’t seen much of you since the evacuation order.

Kayne West: Go to Lt. General Russell Honore. Grab him by the collar and tell him that you want to know exactly who it was that gave him permission to go down to New Orleans and start shooting black people. Go to NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC and tell them you want to see the raw footage of the looting. Explain to them that you are an intelligent, reasonable man, who simply wants to get the facts on how they manipulated the news footage to portray blacks as looting and whites as simply stealing food. Demand a report from the New Orleans police that will give us a profile of all of the looters, rapists, and shooters who were arrested. Give us a full report on the ''Today'' show.

(Note to Mike Meyers: Next time you are standing next to an angry idiot in the middle of his rant, try not to look like a deer in the headlights. Don’t nod in agreement at every inane comment you hear. Express some intelligence, smack him, or just walk away. Don’t be so damn Hollywood predictable.)

Congressional Black Caucus: White people suffered too. Pass it on.

All Presidential Hopefuls and those running for Congress: Study the dedication and sacrifice of our first Congress and our first presidents. Put your country first, not your campaign.

Ted Kennedy: You understand what has been happening. Explain to us how a fat, rich white man can pull himself out of the water and flee, while the innocent drown.

George Bush: GW, just keep doing your best. We know that even if you went to the Gulf Coast, walked on water, pushed back the flood water with a wave of your hand, fed the multitudes, healed the sick, and brought back the dead, everybody above would just complain about you bringing religion into the mix.

General Honore: You da man, uh…. Sir! Keep on being an American Hero. We need one!

Regards, Terry Sater

"Uhhhh, those are the second and third cars the rich people own and they park them in the poor neighborhoods just to make the poor people feel bad."

Ouch! That's gonna leave a mark.

Mayor Ray, speaking from his new living quarters in Dallas, TX.

I could not believe it when I heard that he'd bought a house and enrolled his daughter in school in Dallas! The line about Ted Kennedy is the highlight of the whole piece, if you ask me. The writer was really on a roll when he sat down to compose this letter.

Can't have religion in this disaster.

My favorite, especially after hearing a tidbit of Maher's verbal vomit on Drudge last Sunday (Drudge was as disgusted as I was):

Bill Maher: New Rules. Go off the air. Suggest someone to take your place that is funny and stands for something. I would pay big money to see this. West would pee in his pants at the sight of Honore.

As you did so masterfully in the Tawana Brawley case.

Great post!

I hadn't thought of the irony--
Teddy Kennedy talking about how rich people escaped, leaving the innocent poorer people to drown...
