BTW -- they must be having apoplectic fits that $15 million was allocated to watch where and how all the funds are being spent... guess all out letters did some good.

I am so glad you posted that...

I was cleaning the kitchen earlier, when I heard a replay of Chertoff talking about that oversight committee, (or whatever it will be called)...

It is a shame that we have to spend 15 million to keep an eye out for corruption and overspending and such...but, such is the world and especially the dems in one of the most corrupt states in the USA..

I saw a rep. from IOWA tonight on c-span, Rep. King...and he was really not happy that the 50 BIllion that was funded earlier this week, did NOT have any strings on that amount going to FEMA...

I also heard Landrieu on the Senate floor last week, practically before the flooding had stopped, saying that all of the money going to the Gulf area should be handled by the Gov., Senators, and local politicians of the affected areas...because "only people that live down there, know where the $$$$ needs to go".....LOL

Oh, they are really chafing to get 100% control of that money... I think everyone in Congress should be very afraid.

Did you see the environmental piece where the enviros are to blame for the flood being so bad???

Blanco does nothing but complain. I really want to see her indicted for criminal negligence.

She needs to don protective clothing and get out there herself. She is such a dingbat.

I heard something brief about that possibiliy but it has longterm implications if a President usurps the LA GOV authority. The political fallout, since she was a democrat, would be astronomical. I think he made the right decision not to get into that can of worms. The Gov and Mayor will become more and more obvious as the culprits as time goes on, especially during the investigation. If he had usurped her authority the demons would have went wild about his actions and obscured the truth of their negligent behavior.
We need, as individuals, to write not only our congressmen/women but the demoncrats as well, with detailed information on why the Gov and Mayor are to blame, ;and we need to call for the abolishment of FEMA. Our tax dollars are INSURING homes that insurance companies would never insure.... Beach homes, flood zones, etc

Body recovery takes time and care. Want to make sure the body goes to the right family. What's the problem, Blanco?

Watcha going to do? When the Zombies come after you!

You forgot the punchline. It turns out that Blanco's people had already taken over the responsibility for recovering the bodies. So, she was complaining about her own inaction. I heard that this morning, will try to find the proof.
