... That man was shot four times — twice in the stomach and twice in the arm ...

Just goes to show you that shot placement counts, even with a big bore handgun. If the shooter had been using a 9mm, I guarantee some here would have said: "He shoulda used a .45...the perp would be dead."

Range officer awards 20 points for 2 rounds in center mass.

Thumbs up and a wink for the other two in the arm, fully realizing its hard to hit center mass with his arm in the way when he is laying on the ground in a ball crying for his mommy.

There is no such thing as "registered" in Pa. Concealed carry we have. Firearm registration, we don't.

Thanks for the information. Perhaps the reference to firearms registration was just the reporter's wishful thinking.

But IF he had a 1911 "style" weapon, and 8 rounds, his hit rate is at best 50% inside of 25 feet.

Hmmmm, thinking . . .

8 rounds . . . 4 hits . . .

3 perps . . .1 hit . . .

50% and 33% . Depending on the math, it could be as low as 18% or so.

Ha! You wrote what I didn't WANT to think about! I was thinking of single shooter, single target! The desired result was ACCEPTABLE!....the perps took off...one was incapacitated.

But some serious range time involving threat prioritization and multiple targets should be in order for ALL handgun shooters!

That man was shot four times — twice in the stomach and twice in the arm — the prosecutor said.

Nice shooting. I'm amazed that the perp survived long enough to get him into intensive care. He must have lost a lot of blood.
