LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. -- Nineteen people were killed when a small tour boat carrying 47 people flipped over Sunday on a lake in upstate New York, the county sheriff told the Glens Falls Post-Star.
Warren County Sheriff Larry Cleveland told the paper the Ethan Allen capsized when another tour boat passed near it and swamped it. The Ethan Allen sank, he said.
The 40-foot, glass-enclosed tour boat flipped around 4 p.m. on Lake George about 50 miles north of Albany in the Adirondack Mountains.

Upstate New York, a tragedy for sure, very sad, and President Bush better have an alibi.
Alibis won't matter it is still his FAULT!!
We all know it's Bush's fault.
i hope they caught the other boat......A HOLE!!
I wonder why so many died?
My guess? Lake George is pretty chilly this time of year, so I am sure that they died of exposure, it doesn't take long to succumb to hypothermia in slightly cold water, the Human body just can't handle it.
Who's the mayor?
This trip was a group of senior citizens from Canada. A larger boat's wake swamped the Ethan Allen causing it to capsize and sink immediately.
In related news, the female senator from NY (Clinton not Schumer)threatened to punch the President?
I doubt the hypothermia thing,,
I'd say blunt trauma and drowning
Oh. I didn't think of hypothermia this time of year. I was wondering if they weren't hit why more didn't swim to safety.
Lake George water temp is still pretty warm. I would say 66 - 68. Also warm in the area the boat launched from on its one hour cruise. Half hour up and then back. You really dont go far. You basically see a few nice houses and the water front motels.
Probably so many died because it was a small boat on a big lake. They were from a senior citizen group and that makes your reflexes slower. No life jackets seen on any of the pictures. And it is cold up there. By the end of August leaves are changing at least in the Central Adirondacks where we love to go.
Sounds like a bigger boat got so close as to make a huge wave that capsized this boat.
Some may have been handicapped but you would think they would have had life vests on. They may have been trapped under the boat.
66 to 68 degree water is far from warm. Try a little time in such tempertures. You'll expire far quicker than you imagine.
Note to self,...whenever Sen Clinton comes aboard, be sure to redistribute ballast, move buffet below amidships and encourage her to occupy the area closest the keel.
I imagine so however we dont know what happened yet. My take is the boat was not far from shore and the people were trapped inside in a sudden moment.
It is indeed possible that the boat where all the people drowned did NOTHING wrong.
Time shall tell.
66-68F will set in hypothermia pretty quickly, you would be surprised, it doesn't take freezing water to do it, just cold water, and water around even room temp will kill you.
