I agree with everything you said with the exception of this sentence.
We, the conservatives, are having the hearings right now, live and in public for all the world to see as well as the infiltrators among us.
I am sick to death of all the bashing of President Bush! In the first few minutes of a VWRC meeting last night, some things were said that led me to believe it was to be a Bash Bush fest. I pushed back my chair saying, if this meeting was called to bash the President, I am leaving.
Amazingly, everyone started falling all over themselves saying no. I think conservatives/Republicans are so afraid of being out of the "mainstream" that they have joined the frey. The problem, IMO, is that they have allowed the "hasbeenmedia" to define what "mainstream" America is today, and they don't have a clue what the real mainstream America is.
Do I agree with everything that PRESIDENT Bush says or does? No, of course not. However, I try not to go ballistic and crazy to give the others ammunition to use in their hatred for this PRESIDENT.

Do I hang my head because my graduate degrees are from University of Cincinnati, or do I demonstrate how I got a lot out of a non-Ivy league school?
PS Undergrad was from Wells College, which also doesn't count as Ivy league, but it was a good school (although very liberal)
I love the idea of stealing into the Supreme Court under the noses of the Dems. The more the So-called conservatives unleash their vitriol against Miers the more appealing she is to dems, and thus easy confirmation. The biggest problem I see now is that vitriol is directed at President Bush also, and you can see how it is hurting him personally. Some of these people that have made up lies,and said such horrible things about Miers and Bush will wake up one day and see how they sounded, but it will be too late nobody will respect them on any issue.

Again, I hate to sound like a broken record, but people like Ann were spoiling for a fight. They make their living off the fight. They were licking their chops. They expected lots of face time on the cable news shows. They quickly realized they weren't going to get their fight with the left, so they are picking a fight with the Admin. One way or another they are determined to get their pound of flesh. It's not too different from how POd the left got when they lost their chance for a fight over Roberts.
Little people like me care about results, not fights. Maybe I am in the minority on the Right. But all I care about is ending the judicial tyranny.
Ann was on WRKO (Boston) with Howie Carr 2 days ago for a few hours. She savaged Meirs calling her nothing more than GW's "legal secretary." She mocked her lack of educational pedigree (something I'd only expect from the elitist left). It was hard to listen to. Then I realized, it was all about the fight and self promotion and not about the future of the country. If it were about the future, the attacks would have been based on evidence that Meirs is not what the President claims she is.
