The numbers speak for themseves. The Ras poll is the one many of you cite when stating that the other polls are bogus. Now that these have fallen to the same levels, what say you?
Does anyone see the polls hitting bottom anytime soon? I feel it may be too late at this point(obviously not for Bush but for other GOP candidates in '05 and '06, and judicial candidates). Bush should have fought back against all of the lies the past couple of years, as should the GOP leadership.
Their unwillingness to fight back against the outrageous charges has done immeasurable damage to the perception of the GOP - for years to come.
What a disgrace

The telling number is that 41% STRONGLY disapprove, equaling, within a point, the number who somewhat approve and strongly approve COMBINED!
To: NYC Republican
Depends on whether the Administration closes the border or not. If they cave and do nothing, then indeed the GOP had a BIG problem. If they do the right thing, then the whole country will be behind then! I hope that the GOP leadership gets that message LOUD AND CLEAR!!!

First of all, it's a poll of ADULTS not RV.
Second if you look at the number, 41% strongly disapprove. All else either 59% either somewhat disapprove or approve in some fashion. I have a feeling when gas hits $2.00/gal later this year that number will be halfed

We may be entering another political cycle with the clueless Dems ascendant for the next 40 years. However, doubt if we could survive that.

If a pollster called and asked me, I'd say I disapproved of the job Bush is doing.
And I will continue to say that until he ends his love afair with illegal aliens, which is to say, the rest of his presidency.
Bush could call in Gonzalez TODAY and say "we've got laws on the books prohibiting employers from hiring illegal aliens- start prosecuting now."

Bush doesn't care about polls..good for him!!!!
The poll prez was clinton...he did everything by poll...and he was obsessed with his pole too.

Does anyone see the polls hitting bottom anytime soon? No, it's gonna get a lot worse. (a) The indictments are coming next week; (b) GWB seems to think that the way to shore up his support is to push quasi-amnesty for illegals; (c) evidently GWB is gonna cut a deal with Specter to not veto embryonic stem-cell research funding in return for getting Miers confirmed; (d) evidently the GOP leadership is preparing to abandon the push to extend the tax cuts.

I disapprove of a number of things regarding the President right now. Immigration, Miers, Spending, etc. That doesn't mean I don't support the President or that I won't vote Republican in the next election. I do think he has a lot of clean up to do. I'm sure I'm not alone in this sentiment and these Polls never reflect that.

I can trace this back to the hearings of confirmation of Bush appointees and the gang of 14 sucking the life out of the GOP and the whole political process. The political backstabbing and wimpishness turned people off. That is the kind of sh!te that really pisses people off and it will keep them from the polls with their hands off their billfolds. I love the President but he needs to learn from DeLay and Coburn and Weldon and take the fight to the enemy...NOW!

Forty-two percent (42%) of American adults approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. That's the lowest level recorded ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports. He's damaged goods, no doubt about it ... and he has only himself to blame. One bone headed political blunder after another ... starting with his inept handling of the Katrina situation and now the farcical Miers nomination to the SC.

There sure is a lot of negativity going on here.
I still for the life of me can't understand the Americans thinking that the country is going in the wrong direction during a time of economic growth and low unemployment.
The Katrina issue - which for the most part was an improper evacuation State issue - and the sudden expense of gas must be playing a role with the numbers.
On the political front I think he has lost some of his base for the short term due to not nominating someone a significant portion of the right would have liked.
