A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Florida and THE SOUTH have surely had their share of torment and problems as a result of Mother Nature the past couple years. Our resident satirist, JohnHuang2, who resides in Southern Florida has NOT missed the bullet and following Wilma’s visit, is awaiting power & ability to contribute with us again.

Needing a replacement for this Thursday, the Sistah’s wisely went to the deepest political thinker on the FRee Republic Forum, DollyCali (cough, cough, choke, choke …as a nose somewhere is growing)

Let’s see, shall we analyze Meir’s withdrawal? Reid’s most recent rants? The Scooter indictment? Charles & Camilla's visit to US? Alito’s selection for SCOTUS? POTUS trip to Asia? The 2000th death in Iraq? The de-throwning of Anne Coulter? The Condi 08 movement?

?????

Naw, let’s consider something REALLY important.

A baby squirrel.

Yes, this will be a hot bed of political discussion. Should survival of the fittest been permitted to happen? Will this woman, Debbie, be a wildlife law breaker and be charged with various violations of local statues? Will the libertarians have an opportunity to demand local ordinances as these be eliminated? Will Michael Moore make this into a movie? Who will play the baby squirrel? Who will play the wicked squirrel mother, who threw the squirrel out of the nest? Will the cancer ridden rescuer have her last days with cancer in jail? Will Hospice be permitted to visit? Will the dog breeders of America shout BAD WOMAN!? Will the baby squirrel now need therapy to realize he is NOT a dog? Will the dog pups no longer follow their nature & not chase squirrels? Will the Papillon Association of America with draw Giselle’s pedigree?

But the key question:

Will peace activists tell us that this is a lesson for the US & terrorists……

Cant we all just get along????

Well, wonder if any of us has any clue what will be the fate of Finnegan? Will he be content to play with the dogs? Will his inner instinct drive him to his “own kind”? Will he look for a mate in the dog world (pleasing the libs)? Will he work for the Park Service?

Or will his aspirations be a bit higher? Well, here is an idea….

Nice to see some new animal lovers here today, and dutchess, how fun to see you from Chicago this morning!

Here are more special friends - they remind me of your Oliver and the fawn on your page, Dolly.

Love your collage Billie.. recall seeing the pix of the fawn on the step a while back but don't recall the "rest of the story"... AND YES, what a nice surprise to see Dutchess drop by. She has been the traveling Sistah of late, hasn't she?

There are more pix that friend John took of Oliver & fawn.. these are the best & when I redo my profile page will prolly do them in the collage form & add another one maybe.

Billie, this was about the most POST PROBLEM free thread. Except for a missing "i" in the title Squirrel which Aqua caught, I didn't' have to bother the mods for any changes, removals etc.. BUT,, just when you get more confident.. whammy, huh?

awe.. Lori, thanks for pix of jeff's mom & your baby.. (my oh my, that little one is getting big(esp the ears!!!)

Hope the transition to assisted living goes well & she just might liven up with the extra stimulation of people. I know it would be good for my mom.. but she would miss her home, pets & view of the yard, natl park.

Will your mom return to her home after the 8 - 10 week rehab?

my mom has identical glasses! and I do too.. my old ones which are perfect for the computer screen!

Thanks, Dolly - it's such fun to open regular email from a friend who has sent a whole bunch of precious animal photos; all three of those were in a group I received from a friend recently. They just begged to be put together. :)

LOL - I saw it as "Squrrel" when I was here earlier this morning.....but was NOT going to say anything! :) In case you missed my earlier post, I will say it again: I love your creativity and your sweet and cute threads about these precious little critters. :)

I know! Big ears run on JK's side of the family. LOL! Chachi is as big as he is going to get. Haven't weighed him recently, but I would be surprised if he weighs over 6 pounds.

BTW, here is his graduation photo (from PetsMart University). He graduated October 25th from Puppy Class.

Will your mom return to her home after the 8 - 10 week rehab?

No, if she goes out to the assisted living place, she will live there permanently. We won't sell her house, of course, but we may rent it. We'll see. I know she will not feel comfortable at the retirement place unless she knows she has the option of going back home, if she wanted to. Knowing her, she will not want to though.

*sigh*

It's not MY fault we can't all get along!

I mean, yeah...sure....squirrels are all cute and sweet and cuddly when they are little babies....

but when they grow up and join gangs, then it's a whole different story!!

That's when the preying on innocent citizens in their own backyards begins!!

That's when the endless tormenting and taunting of poor innocent citizens begins!!!

Believe me, squirrels aren't so cute when they are flipping their tails and chattering brazen insults at you!!!

Ridiculing your disabilities ~ diss'ing you just because you were born arboreally challenged!!!

Now, generally speaking, I'm usually not one to hold a grudge, but ...

... I gotta tell y'all squirrels really do get me down sometimes!

Well, no....but he was teacher's pet. She even said so. LOL. He was also class clown. What a personality he has!

After graduation he got to go to Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream too. Do you think he might be a little spoiled?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh! Look at that picture! Gosh, what softies we all are. You know, it just blows my mind that *anyone* could mistreat them. They are so loving and gentle by nature. This picture and the others we're seeing here today are proof.

Animals really do touch our hearts. :)

We got our dog, at 5 months old from a shelter and she had already been abused. She was a nervous wreck. I can't fathom what kind of person can do that. It's a year later and she's great. Still has her quirks but she is the most sweetest loving dog. :)

She looks like she is doing great Mama_Bear. What a cute dog. I have a Grandfather who lives at a assistant living. He loves it. What a great time he has and the friends he has made has him very happy. When I call, he's always on his way to do something. He's in his late 80's. :)
