Mary Mapes Names Names ("Anonymous" Ones)
Posted by Bill
An excerpt from page 201 of her new book:
Within minutes of Buckhead's original posting, Freepers began to repeat and embellish Buckhead's thoughts. Not surprisingly, they all agreed with him, they all agreed with one another, and they all agreed this should be pursued aggressively. Freethinkers they are not. The Freepers and their lockstep like-minded fellow travelers moved as a group, like a school of sharks sweeping toward an unaware and unarmed victim. CBS was like some sunburned, overweight Florida tourist with a cut foot, floundering and flapping in the water alone in the surf. The Freepers swarmed CBS not because it was right or fair but because they could. On Web sites such as Powerline, INDC Journal, Allahpundit, and Spacetownusa, the bravehearts of the blogging world worked anonymously in what appeared to be huge numbers, in unison, to destroy the Bush-Guard story, to uphold one another's wild and hateful claims, to outshout, outargue, and outblog anyone who dared to disagree. And on their Web sites there is no disagreement. They hate in unison, they speak with one angry voice, they each make themselves bigger by staying as close together as possible.

More comment from Ardolino:
"Mary, no hard feelings? Even in forced retirement, Mapes continues her legacy of accuracy, as neither Powerline, nor Spacetown, nor INDC Journal worked anonymously during the scandal. I invite everyone to revisit my September archives and peruse the "wild and hateful claims" made by INDC. Good times.
"I will grant her one thing - the "school of sharks" analogy is pretty accurate, though her description of a helpless victim (a multi-million dollar respected professional news organization) is a bit ... off. And let's not forget who chummed the water."
To: Mo1
Mo, I think it was you who was inquiring yesterday whether Mapes knew about FR. You can read of her awareness here. LOL. It's pretty funny.

Within minutes of Buckhead's original posting, Freepers began to repeat and embellish Buckhead's thoughts. Not surprisingly, they all agreed with him, they all agreed with one another, and they all agreed this should be pursued aggressively. That would be, not because we mindlessly agree, as Mapes asserts, but rather because Buckhead was right.

Boy this is really something. They are portraying CBS as an innocent and helpless victim. The MSM has brainwashed America for years and with the coming of the Internet they are getting their hands called and their lies exposed and can not handle it. Mark my words if the Democrats ever come back to power they will put severe restrictions on speech and the internet or find a way to stop people from exposing their lies.
Bush was elected this last time simply because people like those on Free Republic are tired of Judicial Activism and they along with the religious community took a stand. You all can see how the Democrats have obstructed and the MSM have poured all of its resources into keeping the war, investigation and hatred for Bush on the front burner. This war within in our country is probably more serious than the war on terror and we had better not fall asleep again.

And on their Web sites there is no disagreement. They hate in unison, they speak with one angry voice, they each make themselves bigger by staying as close together as possible... You now see they type of people running the inner workings of the MSM. A great insight into the mindset of the people managing and reporting (propagandizing) the news to the sheeple EVERY SINGLE DAY!
This is utterly dispicable!
The 'brainwashing' these people are trying to do on a daily basis on the entire population.
This is one war that the Bush administration is loosing realy badly these days. I, and many of us, do not see any intensity or drive to counteract the onslought of the RATS and MSM that's been going on now since the election was won.
If Bush winds up his 2nd term in a 'weakened' state, this will critically hurt the chances of retaining the Excutive branch in 2008 (regardless who runs).
To: shhrubbery!
Last night, Michael Savage was describing how the wicked of the last century and this one turn things upside down. First, on kristalnacht, the establishment pummeled the oppressed; last week in France, the oppressed punished the establishment. Mary Mapes, whoever she thinks she is, turns today's whole political picture upside down, sort of like calling good evil and evil good.
Her description of FR sounds just like the DemonRATS/press/Hellywood/university cabal. They harp the same old tune day after day like a broken record and nobody has an original thought. She ripped that label off them and put it on us.

Poor Mary is still trying to force a square peg through a around hole... She just can't get it through her pea little brain that those 1970's era "documents" were made by a modern computer. That not even type setters of the era could have made those documents without serious effort. And that they were supposedly produced on a military base typewriter...
Keep it up Mary, and you will need to seek professional psychological help... Obsession with non reality is a serious problem...

I would say a better analogy is this:
CBS, like a sunburned, elitist tourist, flaked the waters with bloody chum in an ignorant and zealous attempt to draw the sharks to Bush, another visiting tourist enjoying the warm waters.
Only CBS did not realize that they apparently cut themselves with their own stupidity leading the right wing sharks to devour the source of the warm, fresh blood flowing like a red cloud in the deep blue sky.
The CBS tourist quickly found himself in a tight spot yet pathetically continued to throw the chum towards Bush, the sharks were not fooled. They continued to persue the live target in a frenzy resembling a scene from Jaws.
Bush went on frolicking in the waters but CBS was left struggled to the shore as the shark ripped him apart.
What was remaining of CBS was an ugly sight but still to this day throws dried up, rotten chum at Bush.
