FIVE JOKES

November 13, 2005

We turn to France, whose decision to stay out of the Iraq war is starting to make more sense. After all, why go all the way to the Mideast when you can fight Muslims in your very own suburbs?

— JON STEWART

The streets of the suburb of Clichy-sous-Bois have been filled with angry, mostly unemployed Arab and African immigrants setting fire to hundreds of cars. Their message: We're mad as hell, and we're not going to let you park here anymore.

— STEWART

Night after night of rioting and looting and burning cars, but don't worry because the French government is working around the clock to figure out a way to blame it on us.

— DAVID LETTERMAN

The riots in France have been through their second week. No signs of slowing. Now first of all, let me congratulate the French on whatever sporting event they apparently won.

— STEPHEN COLBERT

The situation is really bad — today Chirac announced that the French are pulling out of France.

— JAY LENO

Great sign. Though some times I wish we'd have started it 40 years ago..... the other way around.

I saw this on the same blog (the last line is interesting):

"MOBILISATION NATIONALE
POUR LA MANIFESTATION POUR LA DÉFENSE DE L'UNITÉ DE LA RÉPUBLIQUE

MARDI 8 NOVEMBRE 2005 À 14 H 15
PRES DE L'ASSEMBLÉE NATIONALE
PLACE DU PRÉSIDENT HERRIOT PARIS 7ÈME

autour du slogan

"LA FRANCE, TU L'AIMES OU TU LA QUITTES"

They also take shots at the Dems, though.

I've seen Stewart take shots at Democrats on his show.

"Paristine"

Isn't that how a Chinese guy would pronounce "Palistine"?

You're thinking of this guy:

"I so ronery..."

If the French could only learn to respect the rights of Paristinians...

When does Condi start pushing them towards unilateral disengagement?

It's slightly different in France because the immigrants came from former French colonies. The problem is not so much the immigrants as it is the socialist economic system that keeps the immigrants dependent on state welfare for generations.

Exactly !
Socialist change them to assisted people.
No need to work, they live with family allocations and RMI (salary for unemployed workers). France is only money for us.

The next question is: "What is going to be the new National Anthem of France?"

My first suggestion is "Ahab the Arab" by Ray Stevens

"Let me tell you 'bout Ahab The Arab
The Sheik of the burning sand
He had emeralds and rubies just dripping off 'a him
And a ring on every finger of his hands"

"I did not know that the National Youth Front was still active. "

It's a old tract (very similar with De Villier tract) but that's still exist.
In fact, a lot of youth vote FN (20% of them, something like that, but not me)
