Saddam 'beaten up after obscenity'
Telegraph ^ | November 16 2005

Saddam Hussein was beaten up during questioning after he made an obscene remark about Shia Muslims, a source close to the investigation has claimed.

The former dictator is being questioned by investigative judges before his trial resumes on November 28.

An Iraqi lawyer briefed by investigative judges in the Iraqi High Tribunal said Saddam had made the obscene remark when asked about attacks by Iraqi forces on the shrines of imams Hussein and Abbas in Karbala in 1991.

Two of the court's clerks stopped taking notes and attacked Saddam, pummeling him with blows.

The source claimed Saddam's American guards were amused by the incident and did not intervene.

Can't they send Sadamm to Joilet or Folsom for a while

Sorry, I have relatives who are prison guards in that state (Joliet) and they can't hit the prisoners, the prisoners know it, and they abuse the guards as much as they possibly can. Sound familiar?

I wasn't implying that the guards would be doing the hitting.

"The source claimed Saddam's American guards were amused by the incident and did not intervene."

WE shouldn't get involved in religious disputes. Did they give the names and addresses of the Court Clerks? I can think of a few things I have heard that Saddam said in the past about Shiites.

I won't believe it until they find the Weapons of Mass Transcription.

Saddam Hussein was beaten up during questioning after he made an obscene remark about Shia Muslims, a source close to the investigation has claimed.

Meanwhile, another source - Baghdad Bob - is reporting that Saddam has overpowered the clerks and the American guards singlehandedly, and has already recaptured Baghdad using nothing but a ballpoint pen seized from one of the clerks...

Thanks, I'm going on flaky memory, myself. Until recently, I thought the guy in the pic that I mentioned was one of our guys. When I first saw it, him grinning and holding the buzzard by the hair, I'd expected a hue and a cry from the peaceniks over the apparent gloating at Saddam's predicament.

I found a Newsweek link. It says a commando, one of ours, hit him or hit him with a rifle butt. Check it out.

You know, that's a damn fine question for a sharp young reporter to ask ol' Slick:

If you think this war is so wrong, that Saddam is so damn innocent, how about you grow a pair and go to Iraq to defend him, President I-didn't-deserve-to-get-booted-from-the-Arkansas-Bar?!?!?!?!!

Ammused? I would be hard pressed to not point and snicker.

Meanwhile, if it was a white supremicist who was beat up by two black court workers, the DUers would be celebrating. Hypocrites, all of them.
