FReep 30 of Code Pink at Walter Reed, Nov 11 (Heavy graphics, Join us Nov 18!)
DC Chapter ^ | Nov. 18, 2005 | BillF with photos of others

Posted on 11/18/2005 12:35:05 AM PST by BillF

On Nov 11 we had a huge turnout of FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond on a cool, but relatively nice, evening.  This was FReep #30 as FReepers have countered Code Pinkos at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center as their have for over 7 months.  Leftists sent over a tag team to our side that included the "world's oldest community college student," but they were rebuffed. Pinko Eric "Squeegee Guy" provided us with some good laughs on his way as he left. We were pleased to have numerous veterans join us for the Veterans' Day FReep, including one Operation Iraqi Freedom vet and another vet who just returned from his stint as a contractor in Camp Fallujah, Iraq.

Code Pink is truly stuck in a quagmire as FReepers severely hinder the Pinkos' cynical attempts to manipulate severely wounded soldiers and relatives in hopes of finding those who will join the anti-war movement and break faith with the troops still fighting a ruthless enemy. Please help us by showing up next Friday night per details below.  Stand up against the Pinkos who've endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers." Then, the Pinkos demonstrate at the hospital and pretend that they support our troops.

Please join us this Friday, Nov 18, at 6:30 pm per details below.

To help people get there on time, without having to stop for dinner, we got pizza on site at the FReep.

The honor roll of those in attendance (lurkers are marked with an asterisk*): Abby4116, Albion Wilde, ALlRightAllTheTime, Apple Blossom, beandog and son, Bill* from MD, Black Republican, bmwcyle, bstein80, BufordP, Coop, Dee* (she gave me what I thought was a screen name, but there was no such name) and husband and grandson, Doctor Raoul, Eric* from MD, Fraxinus, Hartleyboy, Honest Conservative, Iraqikurd, Jack Deth, jhopkins, Jimmy Valentine’s brother, Joan* from MD, JoyjoyfromNJ, Justanobody, kristinn, Mr. Sarcastic, Mrs. Sarcastic, NerdwithaMachineGun, Nina0113, Oscar*, PleaDeal, Sisku Hanne, SonOfTGSL, TBP and wife, tgslTakoma, Tom the Redhunter, trooprally (two FReepers: Mr. & Mrs.), and BillF and brother. That's 44 of us and included numerous FReepers who traveled the extra mile by coming from far away.

The event was so large that I can only present that part of the story that I saw. If you were there, please describe your own experiences at the FReep. Also, let me know if I publish your photo without your name or, worse, I mislabel you in a photo.

[CLICK ON A PHOTO TO OPEN A LARGER VERSION IN A NEW WINDOW if it has a border around it. If a photo doesn't have a border, it is not hyperlinked to a larger version.  Click on another photo and its larger version should open in the same window that the first enlarged photo did. Or you can simply close the window with the enlarged photo and click on another photo in the report to open a new window with an enlarged photo. Note that some of the wider photos may open in a window wider than your screen and you can use a horizontal scroll bar to see parts. Photos will be interspersed in the report.

Photos were taken by tgslTakoma (click here for her full outstanding collection of photos), bmwcyle (click here for his full outstanding collection of photos), trooprally (click here for his or her full outstanding collection of photos), NerdwithaMachineGun, and I.  The photographer can be determined from the name of the photo. You can see that on hyperlinked photos (i.e., borders at edge) by running your mouse over them. On other photos, right click on the photo and click properties. The key is this: photos taken by bmwcyle begin with "Dbmw," photos taken by tgslTakoma begin with "Dtgsl," photos taken by trooprally begin with "Dtroop," photos taken by NerdwithaMachineGun begin with "Dnerd,", and photos of mine begin with "DSCN."]

Opposed to our 44 patriots, the Pinkos managed to get, at most, only 39 America-hating traitors and their well-meaning, but incredibly-misguided, dupes. The dupes do not realize that their Pinko organizers, who claim to support our troops,  call our troops "killers,"  endorse "the Iraqi resistance" (those killing and wounding our troops, see here and here), and  have given money to "the other side" in Fallujah.

A view of the MOAB (Mother-of-all-Banners) at our main corner from across the street as taken after the leftists had fled the scene
and many FReepers had relocated to other corners. This is what the leftists see, except that many more FReepers are around the
MOAB.

We had a large number of patriots at our main corner here (and at
secondary corner) until the leftists were gone and we spread out to
all four corners.

Another view of the main corner.

Pinkos left.

Four veterans: Jimmy Valentine's brother (Army), Jerry (AF,
brother of BillF, and veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom), BufordP
(AF), and NerdwithaMachineGun (Army and just back from
Camp Fallujah, Iraq where he was a contractor)

I think that this is new FReeper, jhopkins

Grandson at side, this woman identified herself as d__, but
there was no such screen name. Maybe her real name is Dee?

Among the FReepers and patriots who came out on this Friday, Veterans' Day, were some with special ties to Iraq. NerdwithaMachineGun was just back from Camp Fallujah, Iraq, where he had worked as a contractor. His vehicle was hit, albeit ineffectively, by an IED, during his last week in Iraq. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured and Nerd escaped with a bruise on his wrist from the vehicle bouncing around in the explosion. My brother Jerry, a former F-4 backseater, had volunteered for Operation Iraqi Freedom with the USAFR and served in Qatar and briefly in Iraq in 2003 in a support capacity.

We were also pleased to have JoyjoyfromNJ, who traveled to DC on her own, as well as four first-time Walter Reed FReepers brought in from distance by Doctor Raoul.

One of the FReepers' signs was outstanding.

his blog while serving in the Army in Iraq before serious injured

us by coming over to thank the FReepers, he continues to write his
blog from the hospital and his wife writes on the blog as well.

FReeper sign on secondary corner points at leftists' pizza-slice-like sign. "GIVE PIZZA CHANTS!"

Totally disregarding the danger of global warming, the leftists burn their candles, but still can't get their flag to ignite.

Pinkos' main corner. November 11 marks the Armistice which ended World War I. Germany and its allies basically surrendered and
limited their future military power by treaty, which treaty was later broken by Hitler's German government. Do you suppose that
the Pinkos want Zarqawi to surrender and to stop blowing up weddings with suicide bombers?

Traitors at the gates as Pinkos' secondary corner includes another mini-banner.

Crazy backpack guy on left and Bruce Wolf wearing his usual
blue shirt, blue jeans.

Perry plays guitar on left ("The Internationale?") and Chief DC
Pinko Gael Murphy gives the V for victory sign, victory for "the
Iraqi resistance" as she calls the terrorists who became the worst
wedding crashers in history in Jordan recently.

If this guy was 17 years old, one could half-way understand the
naiveté of holding the sign on the left.

Bush bashing at the "very discreet, dignified project" (Code Pink's
phrase for their obscene blood dance and anti-troop psych-op)

During the FReep, a Pinko guy (right side of left below photo) approached us from the front and asked if "there is anyone here who can engage in a reasonable discussion." During the commotion as people told him to return to his side, the leftist woman (right side of below photo) walked in behind our lines carrying a fancy camera. After being made aware of her presence, bmwcyle immediately asked her to leave. She claimed that she was press. He asked to see her press credentials. She had none, but suddenly make up a story that she needed photos for a class that she was taking at a local community college. bmwcyle told her that she would have to leave or the police would be called. She left. Shortly thereafter, the condescending "Mr. Reasonable" slinked back to the Pinko side.

"Mr. Reasonable" on right was the decoy.

bmwcyle sent the world's oldest community college student back
to her side

Pink Hat Pinko is writing a to do list: "give $
to terrorists
, call our troops 'killers,' endorse
'the Iraqi resistance'
, and then protest the war
at a hospital, pretending to support troops
that we call killers."

Then why did they give money to "the other
side" in Fallujah?

Is this leftist photog, a cleaned up weasel?

Pinko holds distorted peace symbol as Eric "Squeegee Guy"
looks on.

The Armistice banner of the Pinkos seemed to conflict with another banner that they pulled out. It was a pink sheet that said "Pray for the dead, fight like hell for the living." When FReepers asked them "how could they fight like hell" if there was an armistice, they put the pink sheet away and keep it out of use.

The flash distorted the color of the oblong peace symbol at left. It was really pizza tomato sauce red.

Eric "Squeegee Guy" left the Pinkos early and had a surprise roll by on us. He had boarded a Metro transit bus. As it went by us, the bus slowed down and he waved a Cheney mask outside the bus window to great laughter from the FReepers.

Way to go, Squeegee! We didn't think that you had it in you, but you proved us wrong. I see a sit-com in his future.

So he's supporting Cheney in 2008. If Squeegee shouted anything, I didn't hear it, but I can guess ("put a real neo-con in the White House in 08"). At any rate, it was much better than the "I have a bullet at my place for you" line that he was said to have previously used on Rolling Thunder members.

After the Pinkos had withdrawn to escape being flipped off in mass by Walter Reed patients returning from a night on the town, and after some FReepers retook the Pinko side of the street, tgslTakoma took the photo showing that Pinkos left a partially burned cup and remnants of a candle (lower left of photo) on the ground. Not only do they add to global warming, but the Pinkos throw litter on the street.

As usual, when the bus of wounded troops and family members returned from their free meal at Fran O'Brien's, the bus riders and FReepers exchanged signals and shouts of appreciation for each others' presence.

Some FReepers then went onto the base to talk to the troops and express support for them, without regard to any political matters.

Let's help our wounded heroes maintain a positive attitude.  We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded troops at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.

If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. At the very least, we can hinder their psychological warfare operation against the wounded troops. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?

Pinkos leave burned out candle-holding cup and candle remant

Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?

This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation.

For those of you in the DC area, we need some additional FReepers to join us for FReeping Code Pink every Friday night, until further notice, starting at 6:30 pm and until about 9:30 pm. How about coming out this Friday? You can join us in progress if you can't make the beginning of the event.

We usually order pizza or other food for FReepers and guests to eat on site if they haven't had a chance to eat before making the trip to Walter Reed.

Can you sacrifice an evening to honor the much greater sacrifice that the troops are making for our freedom?

FReepers will continue FReeping the Code Pinkos every Friday night until they stop their obscene blood dance outside the hospital of our war-wounded. If you agree with me that it is outrageous for Code Pinkos to demonstrate at a hospital with war-wounded troops inside, please come out and join us in a peaceful counter-protest.

One of the amputees told me months ago that he doesn't want other wounded troops coming into Walter Reed and seeing only the Code Pinkos at the gates. He explained that the FReeper presence there was extremely important to counter the Pinkos. Please join us and be a part of our peaceful counter-protest to Code Pink.

Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.

Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB (Mother of all banners), other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future.

As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.

Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

6:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW

Code Pinkos have been setting up on the southwest corner of the Georgia Ave/Elder St intersection. We've been setting up on the northeast corner across the street from Walter Reed's entrance gate. Now, their permit purportedly covers both corners on the west side of the street.

On street parking is usually easy to find. The location is about 6 or 7 blocks from Takoma metro station and is walkable, but it is best if you get a ride. If you want a ride, FReepmail tgslTakoma as I will be away from the computer most of Friday. She may have some ideas to help get you a ride.

DC Chapter ping! Please bump this thread to keep this on top of the latest posts.

(Please ignore the early start notice for Cindy Sheehan. That was Oct 28.)

FReepmail me to get on or off the list.

Our troops are bold enough to face bullets, mortars, IEDs, and suicide bombers. Are you bold enough to get out from behind the keyboard, FReep in person, and stand up for the wounded troops at Walter Reed?

If you're in the DC area and don't have family or work considerations that keep you from FReeping, can you spare a few hours on a Friday night? Will you?

Bring a lot of layers of clothes, gloves, and hats.

Also, chemical heat packs are helpful for cold hands and feet. Camping stores and some Home Depots sell the heat packs, in case you've used up the supply shipped to you from Halliburton.

Temp will be 38 degrees to 34 degrees, wind chills about 3 or 4 degrees cooler.

Great report. That was my outstanding sign btw. Unfortunately I will not be able to participate in Operation Code Pink Freeze Out tonight as I am traveling to witness the most played college football game that has been ranked more exciting than the NFL Superbowl by those who have played in both. I plan to be back to participate in Operation Turkey Duster and commemorate the sixth anniversary of our victories at 34th and Massachusetts during the time of the great inconvenience.

wow! great job. These silly knuckleheads can't even come up with a coherent message- what the heck are they protesting there at Walter Reed anyway... they want to make sure our injured soldiers know they want peace????( as if our soldiers haven't been fighting so they could sleep quietly in their beds- you know- as in... "peacefully")

Oh, Ok..... and look at this... a silly knucklehead making the VICTORY sign and holding up a peacenic sign...(*sigh*)

I just want someone to tell these freaks that this Is not Vietnam- there will be no woodstock and free drugs or fee mud slide.I think the guy with the guitar thinks a recording agent is close by. Was MTV there??? Doubt it.

Discarded cups, using foam cups, Code PINK is poisoning the planet!

Perry's wearing his 60's flashback, as is the "War Crime" sign guy. How soon before OPEIU Local 2 has the courage to start wearing his flashback rag again? It went so well when he carries a flag covered coffin on Georgia Avenue before...

Don't worry about the cold tonight, folks. Thanks to our resident Doctor of Freepology, the DC Chapter has several very large hot beverage dispensers, which I will be filling with coffee, hot cocoa and sweet tea (Hi, Iraqikurd!).

And, Mrs. Trooprally... I now have two pairs of your gloves. Thank you for rescuing me and my boy last night.
